yoshii
I like that mushroom! Nice growth too, this tank will be packed in no time Quote Link to comment
Lingwendil
total coral log so far- hitchhiker mushroom Mystery zoas orange leptastrea (formerly) green chalice duncan yellow polyps ?astreapora? blastomussa favia montipora meteor shower cyphastrea pavona inverts I have a hard time estimating, I haven't actually counted them, and I pulled them every here and there from the 20 as I found/caught them. probably- 3-4 nassarius 2 small blue-leg hermits 6-8 cerith snails 10-12 asterina stars 1 larger (3/16" tube, 2.5" long) vermetus snail hundreds of isopods and copepods (seriously, they are everywhere ) some hopefully harmless flatworms (haven't seen them on corals yet, only ever on the glass) I also have some red ochtodes in a couple spots, I actually want to move it to an easier to see spot. It fell apart a bit after acclimation (delayed shipping) but is doing fairly well in the back corner, and on the filter intake 🙂 2 Quote Link to comment
Lingwendil
Goal is more Cyphastrea variety, and more LPS, I have a thing for the oddball stuff, so tend to buy the cheaper, unusual stuff. I'd love some Hydnophora or Pachyseris but they are very hard to find around here at affordable prices. 2 Quote Link to comment
748S911
Lots of great additions! Looking good. Quote Link to comment
Lingwendil
Mixed up more water, fed everything some soaked/crushed pellets. After a few hours did a water change, and some rearranging. Pulled the branching rock from the corner and put it in the 40 breeder since it has good coralline growth, and a single yellow polyp to act as a canary of sorts 🙂 You can see a frag plug (made of hot glue?!) With red ochtodes in the rear left. Replacement for the last order that mostly melted in shipping. 5 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Look at all the corals! Wow. Tank is looking really good. Quote Link to comment
Lingwendil
Man, that mushroom always looks huge in here, love it. That cyphastrea is already showing growth too, as is the pavona and astreapora. Duncan is finally looking full too. big vermetid slime rope in there visible from across the damn room 🙂 7 Quote Link to comment
Wendy
Great selection in coral, they all look lovely. Your yellow button polyps look like a huge afro, lol! Quote Link to comment
Wingy
Your mushroom looks great. My pom pom crab used mine as a beach ball and threw it back behind the rocks in the corner. Of course the mushroom likes it there and has reattached itself there. Quote Link to comment
Lingwendil
Took more pics the other day- Love this Vermetid snail. Full tank shot! Man do I love this Favia- nice texture and sheen! Blasto is happy Hard to tell but the Leptastrea is regrowing over it's skeleton finally Some red ochtodes growing over the filter intake, I really should prune it, but I honestly like how it looks 🙂 Look at that population of pods! I've never seen so many in a tank this size, let alone in such a high population density! Some pics from today- The tiny chalice chip has two new mouths this week, it's slow but it's growing! The Cyphastrea is doing great, and has a nice metallic teal look to it now. Some noticeable growth for sure! Compare to this pic shortly after I got it- 6 1 Quote Link to comment

Pavona is doing well too. Can't wait for them to get some decent size so the growth gets even more noticeable. 2 Quote Link to comment
This guy is extra salty
I’m trying out two SPS in the 2.5g but I’m doubtful they’ll thrive I think my light is too powerful. 😩 2 Quote Link to comment
Lingwendil
It's been a while- heatwave took out the blastomussa and had a little damage to bottom edge of the favia 😞 (AC breaker tripped while we were out of the house camping last weekend) but otherwise it's been going well. Algae was getting noticeable on the glass so I decided to take a razorblade to it and do a water change- Baby chalice is growing along nicely, it's really cool to watch as it's literally the size of my pinky nail! This cyphastrea is growing nicely, and has began to encrust the rock it's glued to in a couple places, I'm super happy with it 🙂 Hitchhiker zoas doing nicely, fun because I never have good luck with zoas usually. Post water change- moved some stuff around, and moved the favia to the 40 breeder since they seem to be more sensitive to heat. Everything else (other than minor loss of color on the astreapora) seems to handle heat swings better. Pavona is fully encrusted down to the frag plug, one side still had a gap for a while. Figured it might do well center for more light. Might try to move it up soon once I figure out a good spot. Moved the cyphastrea around a bit for a bit better location so the vermetus snail slime ropes don't get all over it anymore. I'm thinking of moving the snail rock to the 40 breeder soon, it has a nice blue/black sponge as well as a clam on it so may appreciate a larger tank that has fish in it for some particulates to feed on. Moved the duncan up for more light too. Spy the two yellow polyps that let loose and ended up over here somehow 🙂 montipora is about 2.5" across now, and has encrusted to the rock it was leaning on, so it's been doing great. Figured more light and flow would do it good, so I've moved it up and closer to the filter outflow. Love this piece, and it was only $5! Can't wait for it to get big enough to frag out and put some in the 40. So, I really like how the tank is going, but I feel I need more flow. Not too keen on putting a powerhead in here, and not too interested in an airstone due to salt creep possibility. I have an AC 50 on the 40 I could put on, but I think that may be too much with how fine my sand is unless I find a nonintrusive way to diffuse it, but I really don't want that huge intake in here, nor do I want to pull it off the 40 as it's the main mechanical filtration on there. Hmmmm. I also need to find a way to help this thing stay cool, as it gets pretty hot here lately and we can't afford to run the AC unless it's really unbearable. Maybe a 120mm fan blowing across the top would work? Might be worth a shot. 6 1 Quote Link to comment

Lingwendil
More pics, not much new but some noticable growth. The Cyphastrea is finally encrusted down to the rock, and the Pavona is taking off a bit more after doing the same. some nice noticeable growth on the Leptastrea when polyps are retracted- you can see the area that living polyps are at is thicker and protrudes from the dead surrounding skeleton slightly. The mushroom isn't extending as much, I think he might want less light. I'm thinking of moving it over to the 40 breeder down low to see how it does. Damn do I love that Cyphastrea! Vermetus snail doing his thing in the background as usual. Astreapora recovered from the heatwave and regained its normal coloration, and the Pavona looks great as always. Baby chalice with some sweeper tentacles out 🙂 Monti is growing great, more than doubled in size since I first got it. Hard to get good pics with the angle it's at in the tank. 2 Quote Link to comment
