pieceofreef
Are these vermetid snails in/through my montipora? If so, what do I do about it? There is a hole in the top of the monti. Underneath I found multiple calcareous tubes coming out. Often there is slime coming out of the top hole. I'm very new to the hobby, but this sounded consistent with vermetid snails that are nasty pests? What do I do? Do I try to snap them off and/or put superglue inside? Clown79
Yes they are. I just break them off during waterchanges, some superglue the top of the hole 1 Quote Link to comment

I will monitor for a few days before glueing it back into the rockwork. Hope those nasty snails starve to death 😕 Quote Link to comment

What do I do? Redefine 'nasty pest'? :-) Vermitids are mostly-inert detritivores. "Deal with them" or leave them. My system has been loaded with them for ten years and neither the corals nor fish seem to mind. If they were going to bother anyone I think they would have by now. 😉 Quote Link to comment
