Where's the Chaeto?

I'm setting up my refugium and looking around for macro algae it seems like everyone is out of Chaeto.

EVERYONE.

It seems strange to me.

Any ideas why everyone would be out of it at the same time?

(and whats a good substitute?)

Check with your local reefers, you can normally get hook ups for free.

i asked a local for some and he gave me a bunch on his prune maintenance. 

Only problem is you risk bringing a hitch hiker, luckily mine was clean but full of beneficial pods.  

 

But i would ask local reefers like Asureef states.

We need to prune that sucker like bi monthly to keep it in check and people have no issues just giving it out vs, tossing it.

Unless there's a reason to be in a hurry (let us know!), I'd just be patient and let your refugium mature until something becomes available.
