Tbh, I’ll just pull the rock out if I need to do an aggressive cleaning. Pop it in the bucket with old tank water during a water change and go to town on the glass, lol Quote Link to comment
MetaTank
They’re a little pissed off, since I finally just got them in the tank. I had to float them and then leave my house for a few hours. So they’ve been floating in bags to keep them temp acclimated 7 Quote Link to comment

MetaTank
More hitchhiker zoas opening, and a neat shot through the lens of a pair of blue blocker sunglasses, still waiting on coral filters for my phone 7 Quote Link to comment
MetaTank
Received some devastating news today, so may be a few days till I start transferring the corals to the pico. But they were looking hungry so I made them a meaty treat with what was available. Some human grade shrimp and squid tentacles... And into the freezer it went Acan took a big mouthful And the kryptonite candy canes got down as well Now they look nice and happy. The little one in the pic above still has a full mouth, but here’s another one looking like a thing...lol The rastas opened up nicely and the ricordea is ... being a mushroom 7 1 1 Quote Link to comment

It was just in his sump, but it had a frag disk on it, and apparently the zoas on the disk moved on to the rock, lol. I really didn’t have any expectations that they would open, but they seem to slowly be acclimating to the lights again after being in the dark for so long This is the rock They look more open today than they did yesterday, so that’s promising. Still not holding my breath tho...lol Cant wait to get a proper phone filter, and maybe a better phone. LOL...The iPhone 6s camera just isn't cutting it anymore... Are you using aquariumcam? 1 Quote Link to comment
kimdawg
Sorry about you bad news. I will say a prayer and send happy thoughts your way my reef friend. Your corals look happy and will be there when you get back to them.🙏 1 Quote Link to comment

Almost all of them opened, and it's only been like 4-5 days since I put the rock back under light. 15 minutes ago, This guy is extra salty said: Are you using aquariumcam? Naw, is that an App? I'll have to check it out. I've been using a pair of orange safety glasses, and a pair of blue blocker sunglasses. I have camera filters on the way, slow boat from China. 9 minutes ago, kimdawg said: Sorry about you bad news. I will say a prayer and send happy thoughts your way my reef friend. I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers, things will be alright, just have to stay positive! 4 Quote Link to comment
MetaTank
Broke the food into little chunks when it froze, three shrimp and some tentacles should last a while, lol 3 Quote Link to comment

debbeach13
Sorry about the bad news. I hope it turns out OK. Nice food mix. I used to feed a shrimp and scallop mix but now with less tanks and less fish I just use LRS. 2 Quote Link to comment

If only it were that easy...lol. I wish, I could really use that right now...As of yesterday, I'm "transitioning" jobs...suddenly, and unexpectedly... But I imagine it would have to have a little more than just shrimp and squid to work as a decent food for more "advanced" reefers. I'm just a noob still...lol 15 hours ago, This guy is extra salty said: Yes it’s an app I use it a lot Here is an example Nice! I already purchased filters for my phone, and since I lost my job yesterday, I probably shouldn't be paying for an app, even if it's only 3 bucks...lol 10 hours ago, debbeach13 said: Sorry about the bad news. It happened, I will do my best to stay positive and land on my feet. Glad the shrimp/squid mix seems to look like it may work out, it was really easy and WAY cheaper than buying frozen food. I should look into other additives...omegas, amino acids, vitamins, etc...could be a fun project. Quote Link to comment
seabass
Sorry to hear about your job. Luckily, a lot of companies are hiring and people are switching jobs right now. I'm sure you'll land on your feet. Good luck! 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I just had a really sweet gig, but who knows, maybe the next one will be sweeter! But it was just a job, not my first, wont be my last, I'm staying positive, this could always be an opportunity, not necessarily a setback. 30 minutes ago, Tigahboy said: Man, sorry to hear. I might have lost my job yesterday, but I also learned that my pops' cancer is in full remission yesterday, so you really gotta count your blessings. It's just a job, and having an 11 month old daughter to support will light a fire under my butt, so I'll have something else soon! 8 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better today about it than I was yesterday. It was just a shock, but it's also just a job. Plenty of them out there for me! Just glad I pretty much got everything I needed for this competition set up BEFORE it happened, lol. Now if I can find a LFS that will let me do some PT work in exchange for corals...lol 5 Quote Link to comment
Wingy
Summer is coming. Maybe you could trade some tank sitting for some corals. Get a disposable e-mail address and throw an ad up on Craigs List. 1 Quote Link to comment
