When I created my IG account I was bummed to see someone using my handle already (though he hasn't posted anything on his account), so I had to add "h2o" at the end. LOL. So the AI prime is 1.34 inches thick, I have 2 inches of hood trim, and .75 of tank trim that I don't want showing .09 of an inch over, BUT there is a little dip in the trim it maybe a 1/10th of an inch from trim to lid. The whole idea behind the competition is to go "old school" with a simple tank, and no frills traditional HOB filter. You're having fun designing/making your own tank and filter but in the same way almost making this more difficult for yourself by building it from scratch.
