Underworld2.0 Posted March 23, 2019 Share Posted March 23, 2019 Reefbrite lumilight pro 50/50- has dimmers which is a good thing will fit on top of a 2.5 with glass lid perfect 8" version 0- reviews though Asta20 - Has control, hear great reviews, but some say par levels are low, and not enough to keep low light sps Hipagero- Hear great things price is great some control Abi 12w tuna blue- you guys have raced about it for sps, but they say it literally saturates a room with light but will grow sps but has no control at all These so far are my options for my 2.5 build the reef Brite I seem to like for the simple reason people say since the addition of reef brites they have noticed growth they didn't have before. And I could set it on a glass top and have room for an HOB as per the contest Help me out folks ! When I was on the site 10+ years ago I had a 70w metal halide with a ushio 20k bulb and growth on anything in a 10g was awesome ... Can't even find a 70w halide anymore ... Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue Posted March 23, 2019 Share Posted March 23, 2019 It’s a 7-8inch deep tank (total). You’re going to add some dry or LR that you’ll use to mount your corals on. So we are talking about actual depth of 4 inches on avarage. That’s pretty damn close to the surface. Very few lights won’t grow corals in this tank/setup. So, I would pick your light based on: 1. Spectrum+ power (15-30 watts) 2. Features (dimming/programming/ergonomics) 3. Size and mounting options. 4. Price. 1 Quote Link to comment

I have only used the abi out of the 2 and it's great, colours really pop and I got growth with it. The asta is fine for a small tank but some on here didn't really like it. 1 Quote Link to comment
