Adam1V
So I made the silly mistake of placing my tank close to a window with a lot of light, it’s taken me a while to realise my mistake but Algae has blossomed, mainly on the glass walls of the tank but a bit inside too. iv cleaned the tank as much as possible, moved the tank away from the window / light source, but wondering if there’s anything I can add to the water to help reduce the algae ? im doing regular small water changes so thinking just something to reduce phosphate levels? NuisanceAlgaeCultivator
There are always chemicals but you could also do a refugium, manual removal, maybe blackout a little while, increase the clean up crew. Any of these non-chemical ways would address the situation as long as your water and feeding routines are good, they’ll just take some persistence. Quote Link to comment
Adam1V
I have a handful of snails, prawns and have no direct sunlight access, so that should make a positive impact quite quickly? i wasn’t sure whether to give it a boost with chemicals or not. Quote Link to comment
Lognor
Go lights out for 24 hours. It may not eliminate it 100%, but it will help. Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
I'd say to post a picture before doing anything else. 1 Quote Link to comment
