HuskyReefer
Hello all, this is my first post here on the forum but I had a question in regard to what type of agae I have growing in my tank. My Tank has been going strong for about 6 months now. My parameters are all normal but have just begun to see a rapid growth of this random agae. The first picture is of the side of my tank and the second is a zoomed in on a spot. Thanks for your help! Quote Link to comment
Thrassian Atoll
Does it wipe away easily? Looks almost like coraline algae. Quote Link to comment
HuskyReefer
Not really... I would have to go over it a bunch of times with the mag float to get it off. It’s just odd because it’s green. Quote Link to comment
VaporCountry
Looks like coralline to me Quote Link to comment
yoshii
It's a hard to scrape off green algae? It's totally normal, don't worry about it. It usually just grows in small spots like your photos, just scrape it off just you would with coralline. Also, to Nano-Reef! Quote Link to comment
HuskyReefer
Thanks for your help. Do you know a specific type is might be/ how to get rid of it Quote Link to comment
Lognor
It's coraline algae. Most of the time its purple, but there is green as well. I scrape it off the glass, but leave it on the back wall. It's up to you. If you look at the picture attached you can see both green and purple on my back wall. I have some green in the live rock as well, but mostly purple. 2 Quote Link to comment
Thrassian Atoll
Easiest way to get it off is with a razor blade. Just be careful not to scratch the glass. Leave the stuff on the back usually. Quote Link to comment
