This guy is extra salty
My turkey week update! i finally found some dragons breath macro algae and I put a piece of it in the pico to see growth against “dragons burp” I trimmed back the “burp” to level the playing field. Enjoy I put all the trimmings in the mangrove tank. 3 Quote Link to comment
This guy is extra salty
So it’s the December update i decided to extend the contest 2.5g another 25.4cm back so I did and ended up combining the mangroves. The 2.5 will live on in the 5g warning picture heavy 6 Quote Link to comment

This guy is extra salty
Another update! here is December’s FTS and a little side boob i have been doing manual water changes on the mangrove tank which isn’t bad but I had enough of them so I finally got around to setting up the AWC the same way I had it before. With both the drain and return lines running into the sump of the 160. I had to buy an extension cable for the dc pump and I bought some black tubing I had to have 2 20’ lines but the stock tubing only comes in 15’ unfortunately which is why I found some that is higher rated and a bit thicker so it can be walked on and not interfere with the water changes got the two lines ran and testing the fill rate on the return. zip-tied the lines to the back of the acrylic stand so my son doesn’t yank or pull them out. i have both of them running under the floor mats and the rug in front of the 160 now just gotta shove them into the sump and run the return pump wire back to the controller. overall I like the new placement of the 5g mangrove tank. It sits in front of a southern facing window so the tank does get about 4hrs of natural sunlight which Is great but since it’s winter I have to supplement with a 32w GE plant bulb. (FYI the bulb grows chaetomorpha really well, if you’re on a budget) So this weekend I got the tank’s first inhabitant. A hifin goby/ candy pistol pair. Both of them are about a 1/2” long 7 Quote Link to comment
