Hi all ,

New member to the forum and somewhat new to reefing . Family members have had reef tanks some very large tanks too at 600 litres .. Have always wanted to have a little reef of my own and finally took the plunge with an Innovative Marine Nuvo 40.

I kept Malawi's for a few years and they were fun and interesting and easy to maintain, but the colors just don't do it ... sounds harsh ...but it is true ..they are great in their own way but always the Porsche Boxster driver who couldn't quite afford the 911. [ not that money is the reason i'd like to add....  ]

So anyways ... here is a run down of equipment purchased so far ... and a wee piccy to kick off with ...

IM Nuvo 40g

AI Prime HD & stand

IM Custom Caddy x 2

SICCE 1.5 return pump

Tunze top off nano

Jecod SOW-4 wave maker

Water is cloudy , this was taken just after adding water ..

Managed to find a light that would suit my needs , so hard to find a slimline LED light in the UK ... but think I have found one that will suit my needs really well and only cost me £10.

Only blue and white LED's but should be adequate to grow chaeto even if a little slow ... and provide a place for live food ... I would really like a Mandarin Dragonet at some point ..and live food seems the best way to go for them ..so have modified my Nuvo 40 to create a space for a small intank refugium.

Few pics included ..no light spill seen from the tank , only a very slight spill at the side but nothing bad .... really happy with how its gone in .... now just to get some algae and GET GROWING !!!!!

Nice new edition ... And came with a few additional extra's too ... Lol.

Refugium up and running , and have seen copepods coming into the display area ...so ...so far so good ... If I can keep a slow trickle of pods coming into the display area ... My dreams of a mandarin might finally come true ...
