EthanPhillyCheesesteak Posted May 13, 2020 Author Share Posted May 13, 2020 I got some more pictures. I figured out why the acanthophyllia hasn’t opened up all the way yet. It must’ve been slightly damaged during shipping, bc it has a little patch of flesh that it’s missing. I’m sure it’ll heal tho. I told uniquecorals about it just to be safe and if it doesn’t make it, I should get my money back. 2 Quote Link to comment

The acanthophyllia is such a awesome coral to watch eat food. If I can post a video of him eating, I will try. The acro also had a very good feeding response. I sprayed some reef roids over him and a few seconds later all those polyps burst out of him to grab the food. 2 Quote Link to comment
EthanPhillyCheesesteak Posted May 14, 2020 Author Share Posted May 14, 2020 I’ve said it before, I’ll say it million times over. Clownfish are the biggest assholes in the entire ocean. My maroon is a big jerk. I was going to move the acro up a little bit so it can get some more light and flow and the clown got so pissed at me just bc I invoked a little bit of change. He hates it when stuff in the tank gets moved around. I put the acro up a little higher, next to the bounce mushroom and he turned around and glared at me like I was his worst enemy. He then proceeded to maw on my hand, after he realized that didn’t work, he went ahead and tried to push the acro off the rock that it was on by putting his mouth either on the acro or the frag plug and swimming against the frag plug with all his might. It doesn’t seem to have damaged the acro at all, bc he was unable to move the acro even a tiny bit, but I’m afraid he may take drastic measures here soon. 1 Quote Link to comment

They eventually can easily draw blood and I have seen large ones move big rocks and toss corals in the sand. As he grows he will organize the tank how he wants. They are less destructive in large tanks as a person can put a nem on one side and they will generally/hopefully just terrorize that area. 2 Quote Link to comment

He terrorizes the left side of the tank where his host torch is at. Torch honestly doesn’t seem to care that hes hosting it. It’s definitely grown a lot since I got it tho. When I bought it, it was sold to me as about an inch in size. When it is fully open, it looks to be almost 2 inches. Hopefully it’s a baby.
