Also, for some reason my ric is acting up, but I think that’s just a ric being a ric. My gsp is closed up, but that’s normal. It closes up once a night

I agree with the toadstool looking nice - I love softies. Your tank seems to be coming along pretty well, Ethan. 🙂

If your ever looking to get one, he’s called a gold nugget maroon clownfish. I got him from liveaquaria when they were having a sale on him. He was 55, now I think he’s in the 80s somewhere, not sure

He’s also a weird maroon, he’s not very aggressive

He doesn’t attack anything new that I add to the tank, or any of the fish already in there

So the Caulerpa toxiafolia came in today, but I don’t know if it actually looks to good. A lot of the leaves are white. It came like this. Also, it’s huge!!

Here’s some pictures of jerry🦀😁. I have nurtured jerry back to almost full health. A few weeks ago, he could barely move and barely eat. I had to hand feed him myself, by picking jerry up and then putting pieces of fish and scallops up to his mouth. He could barely even eat like that. He couldn’t even move at all. He could slowly move his arms and legs, but if he fell on his back, he would need my help to get him back up. Now, he is eating all by himself, all I have to do is drop a piece of food in front of him and he will grab it and start munching on it. He moves his limbs a lot easier now too. Granted that he is still missing 3 of his legs, he can’t move very far, but I will hopefully be able to nurture him enough so he will grow back those missing legs.

Here’s the new algae. Is there anything that I should do? Is it dead or dying? It came with the leaves where you could almost see through them.

Also, my gsp is growing quite well. I can see it starting to spread upward and off to the side of the gsp. These spots that are sticking out.

Also, would it be ok if I clipped this really long piece of algae in half? It seems to be upsetting my gsp a little bit

Macro looks good - rhizome looks very healthy - you can cut it into several peices and very slightly bury them in a couple places so it can send new growth into the sediment.

That algae is impossible to kill, good for nutrient export!. Corals are looking much better 😉

And I totally agree your sandbed can be a nutrient issue (which is why I went BB) For some reasom my only good looking/thriving sw tank was my small 10g bb one.

I was also wondering about your scape: is the flow able to go through the rocks to get detritus back in circulation? Otherwise it can also become an issue at some point.

There are a few spots where some detritus does build up. I just ordered a bunch of nass snails, I ordered like 50 of them. So hopefully that will help with the detritus issues

Snails will not be able to get in between the rocks 😉 for deaf spots move you circulation pumps or move the rockwork a little 🙂 A wavemaker would help too 🙂

I was actually planning on buying a jaboe crossflow wavemaker. Would that help?
