ChrissAnn
I have got a pretty interesting hitchhiker on live rock bought a few days back. It opens and closes, but not like a clam, more like a scissors. I don’t see a shell, just a woven type of skin.. It does shift its whole self up and down very little. And does shy away by clamping shut. It’s about the size of a dime. When it opens, a microscopic tongue that resembles a worm comes out and feels around. Picture are of mouth open and one of it closed. Thank you in advance! Quote Link to comment

ChrissAnn
Where did you find that picture? Although yours looks similar, I did a search on Barnacles, but am not finding anything pointing to these being in the Barnacle family. Can you find out more information, Christy.
