Clown79
What do you think is too high a setting for a fluval spec 5.5g with the standard ai Prime? I recently switched from the aquamaxx to the AI on this tank. I have euphyllia, brains, rfa's, 1 monti, and shrooms. Quote Link to comment
seabass
I don't know. But assuming no PAR or Lux meter, I'd start a little on the low side and slowly increase it. Montis don't typically require super intense light. Quote Link to comment
Snow_Phoenix
What preset will you be using? As Seabass suggested, I'd start out low and then increase it over time. (I think AI Primes have an 'acclimation' mode, right? If yes, I'd acclimate it for 1 to 2 months). The shrooms might bleach too if it starts out too high. Quote Link to comment
Capt_Rick_Dixie
I had an LPS dominant 5.5g that I ran a prime on. Highest I went was about 65 but I used the acclimation mode starting at 35 for a month to reach that. Never had a problem and they seemed to love it. Light was about 18" from the bottom of the tank, 2 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
My settings are David saxby respite but with custom percentages. The aquamaxx was 18watts, blue was run at 70%, white 10-20% I had my AI at 80% during spikes and 60% during respite. Was about 18watts Euphyllia loved it, shrooms happy, macro happy Brains and monti not happy, monti losing colour, brain lost flesh(possibly flow?) My rfa's actually moved to the front glass in the direct light. That's why I thought I'd ask because some things are happy and others not. Quote Link to comment
Reefkid88
I don't see a problems,just start everything at about 30%. Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
May as well have a lux meter on hand at the very least......a lux meter app is free and a handheld only has to run you from $7-$20. I use an LX-1010B handheld, just for reference. Quote Link to comment
