mpekoske
good morning everyoneI’m looking to upgrade my lights on my Biocube and just asking for anyone with experience. I’m now deciding between ai prime and hydra 26 HD... I may upgrade tanks in the future is why I’m considering the hydra... I want to be able to keep any sps in the Biocube ... would the hydra be ok on low setting or would it still be too much? Quote Link to comment
paulsz
I know of someone who runs two primes (which equates to a hydra 26) on a 10 gallon and it is fine. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
It depends. I run 1 prime on a 25g and I have sps. There is too much light, it's just subject most don't discuss. Corals only use a certain amount of light, the rest is wasted Here's 1 article discussing it. https://www.advancedaquarist.com/2007/3/aafeature1 1 Quote Link to comment
mpekoske
Thank you clown79 for the response! I did end up purchasing the hydra 26 but I will run it at very low intensity... the price was right so I couldn’t pass it up 1 Quote Link to comment
