Yamato
Hello all, want to know now if anyone here have a solution or comment on this. My plate coral has some type of filter worm under the flesh. As a result the plate has grown abnormally. I am planning to glue the opening shut hoping to kill the filter worm since it will not be able to access the opening. Thoughts? the plate coral was on sale and it’s been growing very nicely. I have fed it and it readily takes the mysis shrimp in. Spoiler Quote Link to comment
Yamato
So I went ahead and drop some super glue into the two holes on the plate coral. Will update those who are interested to see how it will affect this coral. 1 Quote Link to comment
Yamato
Saturday night. Fungia plate coral does not appear to have taken the gluing negatively. Feed normally with tentacles extended. 2 Quote Link to comment
RayWhisperer
Most of those worms are harmless. I don’t know if your plate will ever recover a normal shape, though. Once it starts to grow around a deformation, it will just continue to do so. Quote Link to comment
Yamato
I agree it appeared they were co-existing peacefully. My hope is to allow the coral to grow unimpeded by the worm. Will update. Quote Link to comment

Appears the flesh for the plate coral is trying to grow over glue. Quote Link to comment
