How big are your water changes?

How much do you change and how often do you do it? 

 

If you use Triton Method or similar no-water-change-method, please select less than 3 gallons and less frequently than every three months.

I intend to do about 20% on my nuvo 10 Weekly, but it may be closer to 30-40% actually.

I change  5 Gallons every week  . Vacuum out back chambers 2 every other change .

Back chambers siphoned every other waterchange

Sand vacuumed every waterchange

 

Media bags rinsed every waterchange

Floss changed every waterchange and 1 -2 times between waterchanges

I do about 4.5g on both my 22g and 25g weekly. With rock and sand displacing water.. I guess its maybe at least 30%?

 

My maintance is almost identical to Clowns79.

Besides a weekly 20% or so wc, I blast the rocks and sand and get the tank super cloudy before hand. I also do a quick syphon of the back chambers with every wc, as well as rinse the chemi blue, which is changed monthly, and I change filter floss on wc day, as well as in the middle of the week.

I'm impressed how many people are keeping up the weekly schedule.  I started out with weekly but it eventually drifted to twice per month.

After seeing the majority of the voters doing at least 40% to 50% once a week thats got me thinking

that I may want to step up my weekly amount. Mine is under 10%. Well maybe more then that.

I'm not sure how much water there actually is between the 15g sump and the 50g tank .

20G mixed reef - change around 8G to 10G every week/biweekly. Roughly 40% to 50% of system changed at a time.

I do a 40-60% water change on my 65 gallon with a 30 gallon sump every 4-6 months and use water from that tank to change my smaller tank, I do a 50% water change on my girlfriends 13 gallon macro algae and toby puffer tank every month from the 65 and a 60% every 2-4 weeks on my acrylic 5 gallon with a 3 gallon sump also with water from the 65
