Stocking a 25g lagoon

Recommended Posts

So I was thinking about a dwarf angel and a yellow corris wrasse but I feel that my tank will not be big enough for those fish. I know I'm doing a reef with mostly softies and some hammers and frogspawn which are my favorite. Pretty much I think I have made my final stock list. Remember I don't have the tank yet and I am just dieciding if this size tank will house the fish and corals that I like.

Corals

-leathers

-frogspawn

-hammer

-zoanthids

-GSP (separate rock)

-Maybe a torch

-mushrooms

-Might add somemore

Equipment

-Ghost skimmer

-one filter sock

-media caddy with chemipure blue, matrix, and poly filter pad.

-Ehiem jager heater

-Return pump (don't know which, suggestions?)

-Powerhead (cheap one till I upgrade to an Eflux)

-AI prime HD LED

Livestock

-1 firefish

-1 goby shrimp pair

-1 clownfish (heard this is OK)

-1 yellow clown goby

- 2-3 Trochus snails

- 2-3 nassarius snails

-1 Cleaner shrimp

Sorry for the long thread, any help is much appreciated

Depends on how many fish you want.

If you want the angel and wrasse, both are 4-5" fish so I would stick with 1- 2 small fish that are compatible with them.

Depends on the angel choice. Others have put them in 25-30g.

Do a search on here to see what those with Angel's and that particular wrasse have done to keep them successfully

I'd say that 5 fish would be pushing it, unless you are on top your water changes to control nutrients from all the feeding.

If you do go for a fifth fish, I'd get a wrasse. They control pests and pods. An angel eats algae, but they can also bite corals and clams.

I might do

-1 flame angel (favorite fish I'm willing to try it I've heard the don't nip softies nearly as much)

-1 goby shrimp pair

-1 fire fish or 1 clown can't diecide

-maybe one lawnmower blenny

Lawnmowers grow big and need lots of algae.

Firefish are skittish while the other options aren't.

The angel, clown, and goby/pistol work.

I'd add only 1 more fish.

Alright before I ordered my tank I saw a 125 bow front at the LFS with a sump for $150, its a little banged up but I think I might get that, I've always wanted a trigger. But if I do get the lagoon ill do 1 flame angel, pair of clowns, and a watchmen goby shrimp pair.
