Happy accidents

I had to take out a piece of live rock and in doing so exposed a cave with some sponges and a few “trash” palys stretching for a single ray of light.  Makes me imagine exploring  the caves as a diver. 

 

What are some other happy accidents you have had?

I suppose there are unexpected discoveries, and happy accidents.  I think anybody with SPS has accidentally bumped and fragged their coral (a happy accident).  I've had a few unexpected discoveries, like clownfish eggs, RFA babies, and beneficial hitchhikers.

After removing a large leather in my 10g I had a birdsnest grow from some left over flesh.

That was a happy accident.😊

I am always happy to see sea stars poking out of my live rock at night or during feedings.

My first tank I dumped live rock into cloudy water. When it all settled I found a green emerald crab.

oh yeah, i see him now. i was looking for something tiny. thought his lighter coloured carapace was a clam shell
