I have a small like fountain pump in there moves them a little but I’m going to get a Wavemaker soon it’s just a 14g biocube idk what to put in there that won’t be to much Quote Link to comment
Noobreefer90
Also I have some brown algae growing on my rocks and sand what is this and is it bad. Quote Link to comment
slowngreen
Algae is all part of a new tank. To me a good sign of not near enough flow is algae though too. Nothing to move the water through the rock. Check out some other builds here who have the same tank and see what powerhead/wave makers they are using. 1 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
The algae looks like diatoms which is normal in a new tank. The lighting you are using may also be aiding the algae due to the spectrum it most likely is. Lack of flow as well. In a 14g a powerhead with 420 gph would be good. Something like hydor koralia 420. The little fountain pump is most likely 80-100 gph not nearly enough. Adding some snails will also help Quote Link to comment
