Noobreefer90
I started up my biocube 2 days ago yesterday I added live sand and live rock and about 3-4 gallons of water from my friends tank to help cycle. Today I added some bio spira and went to the store and got a damsel let’s see how it goes. Sorry the tank has water stains of from hadn’t cleaned it yet Quote Link to comment

Subjecting any fish to that is cruel. 2 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Congrats on your new tank, and I love your rockscape. BioSpira does say you can add fish right away, so you may be fine, but I waited a week to add my cleanup crew and another week for my fish to be sure my ammonia and nitrites were at a safe level for the introduction of livestock. Do you have tests to check your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels or an ammonia badge to alert you if the ammonia spikes? If not, maybe you can get a test kit tomorrow or take a sample of your water to the fish store for them to test to make sure your tank is safe for your new fish. Quote Link to comment

Most people do not approve of cycling with a fish these days, so if you can show that your ammonia and nitrates are good due to the BioSpira, it would be a good idea and avoid peoples’ concerns. Otherwise, you can expect people will not be likely to be supportive. 1 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
If you used liverock that is established liverock, you may not have a cycle at all. It still is important to test for ammonia because without testing or using an ammonia badge- you will not know if there is ammonia present. 2 Quote Link to comment

Oldsalt01
Waaaaay too soon for coral. Give it some time to stabilize, like weeks, at least. While not as deadly as ammonia, really high nitrates will grow nothing but nasty algae. I’m not picking on you, but subjecting even a Damsel to any ammonia is a bit cruel. 1 Quote Link to comment
