Roachant
Hi, This may sound like an odd question but I was wondering if I would need to add ammonia to a cycled tank to feed the bacteria there or would it be ok to leave the tank as is once it’s cycled with nothing in it for a while? I’m guessing the bacteria won’t die off right? Oh, I should mention I have some chaeto in my back chamber. Quote Link to comment

Clown79
The bacteria will not die. Bacteria is very resilient. It may go dormant but it will not die. 2 Quote Link to comment

I would still dose a little ammonia during that period just to keep the bacteria active and robust 1 Quote Link to comment
Roachant
I’ll dose some ammonia every few days, maybe half the dose. Quote Link to comment
