Sharbuckle
Not sure I’ve posted about it before but I’ve noticed I have about three or four different kinds of baby gorgonian growing in different spots of the tank. Now, two of them I know for sure are from the gorgonian itself encrusting on to the rock before I moved it and a piece was left behind. However, two I can’t explain, they just seem to have popped up out of nowhere. Here are some crappy pics. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Sharbuckle
Also, my yellow Fiji leather looks like it’s very close to dropping a baby! Which would be very very very cool, seeing as you can’t find them anywhere and they’re damn near impossible to frag. 2 Quote Link to comment

But im so tempted to snip it off and find out. From what i've read though, true yellow fijis do not respond well to being clipped and the mother colony often dies. 1 Quote Link to comment

I would just let them do their thing then. 🙂 Quote Link to comment

Sharbuckle
I love taking shots with the blues off! It looks so much more natural, especially with gorgonians and leathers. Some photos for your viewing pleasure. 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Jeff Hood
Looking fantastic. On my old 600 I had a giant leather like yours. Mine reproduced like crazy. What it would do was those curls at the top would become more pronounced and eventually pinch and fall off and drift around the tank. They would implant them selves and grow. I bet I had 50 babies all around my tank. Was one of my favorite corals. 1 Quote Link to comment

Also, I know the tank is young but im really thinking of getting a Clam. I think a giant clam would be a perfect centrepiece for this tank. What do you guys think? 1 Quote Link to comment
Sharbuckle
Ripping out the manifold today and replacing the return line with soft tubing. The vibrating is just becoming a nightmare, I realized that for the type of system I’m running I definitely don’t need manifold. So this should drastically reduce vibration, will be putting a soft rubber pad under the return as well to help. Fingers crossed. 2 Quote Link to comment
Sharbuckle
UPDATE: not the plumbing’s fault. It’s the piece of junk Eheim. Loudest return I’ve ever owned. A friend is lending me one of his Chinese pumps for now until I go pick up a sicce syncra 3. Annoyed 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I have 2 1250’s, one is 3 years old ever since I had the freshwater tank and it’s as silent as the new one. You just have to put some rubber tubing under it or some suction cups of some sort. Hard plastic on glass will most definitely cause vibrations. Quote Link to comment
