Thank you and you're welcome. You might be able to find a clamp to make it work ( I was looking at scope mounts for a rifle to retrofit) or you could always mount the extension kit to the wall behind the tank, which is what i was considering before I decided to build the stand.

Wow, those are some kind words, thank you! As far as the skimmer, its bonkers. I ran a tunze 9004 that I could never get to skim right and a eshoppes nano that was way too loud / skimmed too wet. The PLS-50 was a beast from day 1. It pulls heavy, nasty, dark skimmate. Its quiet and consistent, I couldnt ask for more from a skimmer this size. I would argue that this is the best skimmer for AIO tanks, only problem is I don't think it will fit in chambers any smaller than what you'll find in the Lagoon 50.

Yay, another Lagoon 50 running a NanoBox light!

I absolutely love the dimensions of this tank, I can't understand why they're not more popular (I imagine it'd the additional freight shipping charges over the 25 Lagoon? I found mine locally so I got to avoid that). I'm running the Tunze 9004 on mine and seems to be working, but it was definitely a bit finicky to get dialed in until it had run for a month or so.

Yeah maybe? I also was able to source mine sorta locally, I had to drive about 40 minutes to grab it. Did you see the new 4x3 tank they have? Talk about a wet dream lol

After getting more serious about sps I had planned a series of upgrades. My nanobox was a part of that, the other was a DOS. My plans were semi thwarted when my DOS arrived at the LFS but my BRS 2-Part got delayed, likely after Xmas delivery.  Honestly the hard work is daily testing and figuring out your actually usage. While I know there is long term advantage, daily testing is expensive! Anyways, luckily I have a bit of my Red Sea foundation left over so I went to work.

I followed some other folks and made DIY containers out of VOSS bottles. The only exception is I did a two sided PTC fittings and replaced the acrylic with 1/4” PEX.

Here are a few shots. Been a crazy holiday season, I had a few issues with my light but Dave has been fantastic to work with. I wanted to move some things around and ended up creating 3 islands, Anemone’s, SPS and LPS. Also the corLine growth has been nuts since started 2 Part dosing. Anyhow, thinking of either an Oceanbox Reeflense or the Polyplabs Version, but for now here’s  what I came up with 🙂

Really beautiful! Dave is the man 💪🏻.

Hows the skimmer been performing?

I just picked up the polyplab lens, i used to just hold a flash gel filter over the camera. For the price, it’s perfect. That said... the gear junkie and hobbyist photographer in me wants to try the @Oceanbox Designs reef lens too! But I’m trying to tell myself I can get out the DSLR if I really want the better optics.

For someone with no other camera than their phone, it’s probably worth springing for the reef lens. One thing I haven’t seen for certain is if it accommodates the dual camera phones the same way the polyp labs version does.

New scape looks great! Can’t wait to see it with a new lens!

I had a power supply left over from another project so I built a nice little box for my Nanobox stuff. I got the enclosure on eBay for 25$ and made the backplane from a scrap piece of stainless, perforated steel. I stole the stand offs and power cord/wires from computers and electronics in the e-waste bin.

So I got a reeflens from Oceanbox Designs. I freaking love it. Shot a bunch of photos and a video. These are stock, I'll figure out an app to do some more editing, like playing with the white balance. Other than that I'm enjoying the tank. I'm continuing to fight a bit of an algae outbreak. I'm enjoying my new found stability and SPS growth. The Nanobox really is a killer light!

RBTA, Rainbow Red BTA, Black Widow BTA, Diablo Corals Rainbow BTA, Legendary Corals Sunset BTA and a few other strains of BTA. Can you tell I love BTA's?

It’s been a solid 2.5 months or so running my Nanobox Hybrid. I’ve got it ramped up and I gotta say that the colors in the tank are amazing. The acros and the anemones have especially gone through a significant color change.

I’ve been dosing 2 part BRS holding a rock solid 8.8dkh and 450ppm calcium all week. I also hand dose 1ml of each Red Sea color and 10ml of acropower twice a week. 10 gallon water changes every 2 weeks.

Ive also taken the bio-pellet reactor and algae reactor offline, trying to hold nitrates at around 2ppm. Other than that my hands have been out of the tank and I’ve been letting the tank do it’s thing. Very happy thus far with the growth and coloration.
