I ended up only having the T5's over the tank for about 2 weeks (2 Blue + and 2 Coral plus); I liked the look of the tank with the T5's but they gave off quite a bit of heat and I don't run a chiller and did not want to add one to the system so I adjusted the settings on my Radions to have a more daylight look to them and it subsequently seem to increase the growth of the corals as well. 9 hours ago, kimdawg said: Beautiful tank! Tank is chugging along, corals are starting to grow into each other so... time for a bigger tank. Picked up a Red Sea 425xl for a good price that I will transfer this reef over to at some point but probably not for a month or two. Tough to do because I really like this set up and things are doing well but I would like to get a few bigger fish and different LPS's so a bigger tank should accommodate for that. For now here are some current pictures, enjoy! FTS 08.2019 Crowding.. Perspective: What the sump looks like mature: 2 3 Quote Link to comment

A bit of biological warfare going on between the moni's and acro's, looking forward to having some more room to try and create a minimalist type of aquascape in the 425xl. : ) 3 Quote Link to comment

Aquascaping the 425 has been a bit of a challenge but I think I've got it in a good place now; I'll up load an FTS soon. Indeed I'm in wine county too, ground zero (Napa)! 1 Quote Link to comment
Justind823
Haha! Yea I'm over in Sonoma - in Glen Ellen where the power has been out for two days and our generator broke... We abandoned ship yesterday and I took my critters with me to the in-laws and everything made the trip. I hope you still have power over there - good luck! Quote Link to comment

Glad to hear the inverts and fish made the trip to the in-laws! Our power finally came back on today and everything looks ok; I had a small generator keeping things going but it looks like there's a little dino out break; nothing a few water changes won't remedy. Right on! I just finished putting everything back in my tank yesterday - all things considered everything looks okay Quote Link to comment
Zuma
Well everything is finally settled in to the new tank and I feel pretty good about the aquascape; not sure about the forest fire digi colony and green slimer placement but overall a- ok. Picked up a school of 10 green chromis and I must say I really enjoy watching them school about the tank and they seem to have diffused the aggression between the blue tang and Atlantic blue tang. Looking forward to watching this reef grow 😊 FTS Right side Left side 1 Quote Link to comment

Zuma
What was old is new again.. Well the Red Sea 425 only lasted about a year; it was doing well but it was a bit more work then I wanted for a reef and I realized that I like smaller tanks more then big ones. I must of subconsciously know this as I held onto my 48 gallon.. Sold off about 75% of the coral and fish from the 425 and transferred what was left back to the 48 in May. Things have settled in after a short dino out break and I'm glad to have the smaller tank set up once again; took a more low profile approach to the aquascape this time. Enjoy 1 Quote Link to comment
