Ebn
It'll continue for awhile. My 4" tomini doesn't charge at the pair of onyx clowns, but they've been together for nearly 2 years now. The clowns were in the tank prior to the addition of the tomini and have always been in their frogspawn host. No aggression between the tomini or the clowns, but the tomini will flare and charge at anything newly added to the tank. The tomini charged at both my bluejaw triggers when they were added and the larger of the two trigger was nearly 1" larger. The triggers didn't mind and kind of brushed it off and he has for the most part left them alone. The tomini does charge into my pack of anthias but usually that's only after he's been rebuffed by my yellow tang. The yellow tang was added after the tomini, at a smaller size, but has outgrown the tomini and currently keeps peace in the tank. If the tomini starts flaring and charging, the yellow tang would swim by and the aggression disperses. They hang out and cruise the tank the rest of the time. Quote Link to comment
AbnormalReefer
Juvenile tangs like the tomini or kole are perfectly ok in a 50 gallon so long as you rehome them as they are older. However some fish just have more aggressive personalities. I’d say everything is fine until the clown starts swimming sideways or there are ripped fins. Also, I’m curious to what your stocking list is? I’m doing something similar with a kole tang in a 55 gallon temporarily. Quote Link to comment

I think it’ll be fine personally as long as you have good filtration. Quote Link to comment

Flame hawkfish are generally more mellow as compared to other types of hawks, but it might still go after your cleaner shrimp. It doesn't matter how large the shrimp is - if it can fit into the hawkfish's mouth, then there's a high chance it might get eaten. I'd skip getting a hawkfish altogether. How about a Fang Blenny? They're beautiful, active and usually hover in the upper/mid-water column. Plus, they have fangs and are capable of defending themselves (usually). Quote Link to comment

Same! I'd have thought the tiny pod-eating mouth wouldn't fit another fish in! 1 Quote Link to comment
