Lorenz725
Background: I have been out of the hobby for just over five years and wow have things changed. I been trying to catch up on all the technology out there but still keep this new build simple. My last tank was a 150 gallon mixed reef with 3 250W Metal Halides. A 200 gallon basement sump that I had set up for about 8 years and had to move so sold everything. I been thinking about getting back in the hobby for last few years but really wanted to get a “show tank”. I came across Innovative Marine and was thinking about going with the 25 gallon lagoon. Why doing research on there tanks I came across there concept tanks and fell in love with the drop off style tank. Over the years I have had a lot of different tanks and have always bought my tanks used it was hard swallowing the price tag on this tank but really wanted something different. Equipment: Tank: Innovative Marine AIO Abyss Panorama 20 gallon Lights: 2 kessils A80’s or Kessil A160 Controller: A- series Kessil Spectral Return Pump: Sicce Pump 1.5 Power Head: Jebao SW-8 Rock: Tonga Dry Rock & Pukani Dry Rock Sand: Caribbean Fiji Pink Stand: Franklin Cabinet (Kirkland’s) Filtration: 2 CustomCaddy Media Baskets ATO: Hydrofill Ti - ATO Controller System ATO Reservoir:- Hydrofill Ti Heater: Marina 100 Watt Temperature controller: Inkbird ITC-306T I am new to the all in one tanks so looking for any advice what to add to my media baskets after my tank cycles. Looking to keep a low bio load mixed reef so no skimmer for now. 4 Quote Link to comment
ReefCap
Very cool I love the drop off tank style! Quote Link to comment
Clown79
I love these tanks. The aquascape is very cool. Good ideas for filter media is filter floss, carbon, purigen. Some prefer bagging their own media and some like using chemipure. Ppl use phosguard etc as needed. Another option is doing a mini fuge as well with chaeto in the back chamber. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
I will more than likely add a fuge down the road and maybe do some doseing if I need to. Does anyone know if I can put the magnetic puck for the power head in water? I want to have it on the back wall but the puck will have to be in the water. Quote Link to comment
ReefCap
Just make sure it’s completely sealed or the magnet will rust causing lots of problems 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Reeferadicto13
Nice tank!?? What are yours plans for stocking ? 1 Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
It’s going to be a mixed reef mainly LPS. Down the road would like 2 clowns with a BTA. Not really sure what else right now. Willing to take any ideas. 1 Quote Link to comment
Reeferadicto13
I think the Tonga branch will look nice full of zoas or some nice sps Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
I agree it will be really cool if I can get them to cover them! Quote Link to comment
Clown79
an encrusting monti would be really cool on the Tonga like a rainbow monti or superman. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
Update: Cycle ended about 3 weeks ago so I added my first fish a nenon dottyback. I know I know there are a lot of dottyback haters out there but with a small tank and not a lot of livestock I wanted a lot of color. I also added 4 hermits and some snails and a single head of hammer. After a few weeks with everything happy I added 2 clowns time to start adding more coral. I changed my light to a kessil 160W and added a Fuge. The Sicce 1.5 did not end up fitting so I am going with the mightyjet pump. I am hoping with the new return pump I won’t have to use the power head because it is to much flow for the tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
FlytheWMark
Following along. In the process of setting up this exact tank. Hoping to have the cycle complete this weekend so I can start adding corals. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
It’s a fun tank can’t wait to add a lot more corals to really show off the tank. Make sure you start a thread and let me know when you do there arent many of theses tanks out there so hard to find information on them. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mine is here... will be posting updates this weekend as my Kessil 160's should be in, are you running a lighting schedule and have you noticed temperature issues with that light in the tank? https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/400776-im-abyss-drop-off-panorama-project/ Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
No heating issues at all you can put you hand right under the light and not really feel any heat form the light. I am still playing around with the lighting schedule so can’t help much with that. Quote Link to comment
Lorenz725
It’s been awhile since I update. Have had some little changes. I got a MP10 for the tank and I love it. I have added a lot of coral and a clam. Got a RBTA and it is been doing greet spit already. Of course my clowns want nonthig to do with it. Battled a bit of a GHA outbreak but as of now have it under control. I will start with some older pics up till I took some yesterday. 2 Quote Link to comment

Lorenz725
I guess the biggest update is I started another tank! It is the Innovative marine peninsula drop off tank. The idea behind this tank is to be 100% different then my other drop off. I had the tank cycling for about 2 months why I was getting a custom bonsai structure made. Just started to add corals have a long way to go but very excited how it is turning out. 1 Quote Link to comment

Lorenz725
My plan right now is to have each plate have its own type of coral. Like one will be all different torch another will be all different frogspawn. 2 Quote Link to comment
xiaoxiy
Props to an awesome aquascape from Paul. Can't wait to see this grown out! Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Wow @Lorenz725, this is a really unique system and aquascape, I'm looking forward to seeing this one grow fill out! One of the coolest uses of a drop-off tank layout I've seen yet! 👍 Quote Link to comment
