vegasgundog
Screen put over overflow and back six inches. Guess I should I should have made one before setup. Lessons are all learned the hard way. 2 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
My clam is not doing so hot. It was doing well but I'm wondering if it's starving for light. I'm going to move the hydra 26s forward in the hood as far as I can. I'm going this will do. Bubble tips are very bubbly ....and looking well. Fiji is happy. Wish the clam was. Going to run a ton of carbon tomorrow and hope for the best as well as move the lights. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Waiting for lfs to open for a bunch of carbon. Working on lights until then I'm really hoping moving lights and carbon will save my clam. It was doing so well in the red sea. Amazon fire is all set up as a permanent touch pad for the apex, just need a longer power cord. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Lights moved forward and moved closer together. Aluminum bar was the original position Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
%$#@&%$!!! New sign on the clam.... mantle is pulling in now as I've seen on pictures of pinched mantle. 1 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Current condition of the clam. Looks a whole lot better with the lights moved However I see whitened spots on its mantle edge. The gonni I got at MACNA is doing very well. Tonight will be a benereef feeding so hopefully it and the clam will be happier. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
I've told my wife we need a couple of recliners here.... Pro setting on Samsung Galaxy camera And non pro on Samsung camera... 2 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
I believe clam is doing better or at least has not gotten worse. These marks look better In still concerned about this corner, it still pulls in. 3 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
😫 I decided to play with the position and settings on the MP40s. Turned them on and walked away. Looking over the poor tail spot blenny was stuck to one! I turned it off and he fell away, gasping. With no ability to move I caught him in the net hoping he'd recover. For fifteen minutes I worked to revive him as I have revived released trout......I thought he was coming around but no. He was doing so awesome but now he is gone. I know things happen and we all lose fish but when it's the result of my mistake I cant stand it! 3 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
TSB is the one I am most worry about during feeding time when all pumps are turned off. They tend to use that opportunity to graze on fresh algae inside the pumps. I control my pumps via my phone so there is no issue as far as accidentally turning my pump ON while TSB fools around inside of it. However, pumps have several seconds delay before propellers start spinning and during those few seconds TSB could and did rush back for the last bite. It almost seems like he is playing chicken with pumps propellers. Dont kick yourself, it happens. 1 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Feeling down about the demise of my tail spot blenny, so I went to the new Lfs in town.... Now this beauty is in quarantine now. And then this little baby rfa just had to come home.... Damm hermit wouldn't get out of the way... 2 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Getting dam tired...... afraid to do anything. The flame angel died tonight in quarantine. It acted like it had a swim bladder issue. It was eating fine the last two days, all seemed well. I did notice the way it was swimming in the acclimation bucket was off kilter ....and chalked it up to the stress. I wonder if the lfs guy didn't hurt it catching it. 😕 2 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Aww that sucks @vegasgundog 😞 I feel like flame angels are particularly difficult to get settled. Nice little RFA you found. How’s Mr Grumpy doing after his adventure? 1 Quote Link to comment

vegasgundog
Time to scrub the clam...... I'm always looking but this morning I finally found a small snail. I scrubbed it once before and got a lot off, but I guess not all. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Well that was annoying. No snail came off the clam. Handful of asternia starfish and maybe a couple tinnnnnnyy snails so small I cant tell. Next time I will have to do it before the lights come on. Dont want to stress the poor clam by too many scrubbings. 1 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Clam looks like shit. It opens and retracts quickly but is not extending and lots of white shell can be seen. 😠 The evaporation is much higher so I found a larger glass vase looks like it holds 10gal maybe. 1 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Sorry to hear about the clam, hopefully it pulls through. That's a clever container for ATO, neat idea to blend in with home decor! 1 Quote Link to comment
slowngreen
Where did you get that cool 2 step ladder/step? Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Got a little bastard off the clam! Big I think for a pyramid snail. It was on its way to feed on the mantle. Didn't see any others so hopefully the clam will start recovering soon. 3 minutes ago, slowngreen said: Where did you get that cool 2 step ladder/step? Got it at IKEA. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Woke this morning to a fourth buble tip anemone.....I only ever wanted the one for the clowns who want nothing to do with it. Now I worry about rbt death squad roaming through corals. On another note, I may be rushing to conclusions. I pulled the pyramid snail off the clam only two days ago and it looks like the clam is recovering quickly. Maybe just being my hopes up too soon. Randomness... 1 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Glad to see the clam is recovering @vegasgundog! I bet you could rehome some of the bubble tip anemones or trade with a LFS? I would be nervous too, if the offspring start to wander the tank. On 10/28/2018 at 8:55 PM, vegasgundog said: Why do dogs love sitting on the top of sofas so much? 😂 1 Quote Link to comment

vegasgundog
Exasperated.....clam is surely on it's way out, encrusting montis are all fading.....last tiny piece of Hollywood stunner I saved fading too. Dont know bbn if you lighting or water quality.....or something entirely else. Testing water now. So frustrated. Alk 9.6 Cal 430 Nitrate 20 Mag 1600 ...according to Red Sea, even though I haven't dosed ever and only did a 10 gal water change to vacuum sand bed a little...😠 Nitrates may be the problem, going to plan on water change I guess. Not going to lie, my fish are fat..... Double check on red sea mag 1500 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Phosphate at .4 according to red sea. 20gal water change ready. Quote Link to comment
