WV Reefer
Just now, vegasgundog said: It is on the sand bed in the open. Might not get a lot of flow where it is. I might try adjusting the lock line return on the left. Try it out to see if there is a difference. 😊 Quote Link to comment

When I moved from the red sea e260 to my 120.....I kept the return pump from the red sea. I followed your advice and moved the lock line return on the left side more forward and down. Six inches from the spout and I can't feel any flow. I know it may cross the vortech mp40, but with the reef setting I should be able to feel something between pulses. 2 return lines are going to take up head pressure but I've got the return cranked all the way up....... did I mention this might be embarrassing? I'm thinking I need a bigger return. Going to look in garage door the box to confirm what flow is because it's going to be easier than breaking into the plumbing in my state. Last I knew I had hoarded left over reef parts in it. 2 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Couldn't find the box. Most have been consolidated during our move. However, I did find the jebao5000L DCS that I started on the red sea e260. Good is where a journal would really be handy, crazy I know. For the life of me I don't remember why I swapped it out on the red sea other than Google says the 5000L is 1325gph, so maybe it had too much flow. On the 120g dialed back this might be perfect. Going to have my son help with a water change, so I'll trade them out and see what happens. Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Well after going through the pain in the air of pulling the pump out..... This pump is 3200 something gph. Wish I could see that much flow.....but I really dont. Omg. Quote Link to comment

vegasgundog
Lights came off lower than I thought, down ramp started. I'd be happier if I had some sps....😒 but that's a restart coming. Top down from earlier today I'm wondering how many rfa are to many rfa? 1 Quote Link to comment

vegasgundog
Poor Bob the green hairy mushroom, named by my wife, has not looked so good lately much to the distress of the clowns who want to snuggle. Its realy the first "coral" I've ever purchased from the very begging and has always been big and fluffy. But lately he's been a concern of possible decline in health. He's been smeared across the rock for some time and I've been thinking it's related to the shadowed end of the ai hydra26. His mouth has been a long thin line stretched across him. But today.....I can see rock poking through the narrow. Bob's been ripping himself apart all this time. So it looks like now I'll have two green hairy mushrooms. My wife already named it Fred. 2 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
First thing home this morning after work.... had to check on Bob Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Fred is now free from Bob Since the clowns always squabble so much, maybe separate mushrooms are a good thing. 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Haha Bob & Fred! It’s always kind of alarming to see mushroom corals split, once we notice them in the act. I always like hearing when people still have their very first coral too, now you have a spare too! 😆 1 Quote Link to comment

vegasgundog
The wave of death that went though when I %$&@×# with my lights and let nitrates get so high, was not complete. What I thought was a complete loss as of my sps turns out to be alive. Stuff I thought was dead.... Oregon torte still dead, birds nest still dead. But most suprising of all is my purple goniopora. I thought it was gone for good. But I started target feeding it daily with goniopower anytime I saw slightest polyp extension. Now after a couple of weeks it extends daily. I cut feeding to couple times a week now. Hoping for continued success and return of diversity. 1 Quote Link to comment

vegasgundog
Newest member of the reef came out of quarantine. Doing very well it seems. The blue eyed tang was a little rough on him yesterday. Today it is just being slightly bullish, just letting the little guy know he's still here. Side view, second day for the flame angel. 2 Quote Link to comment
vegasgundog
Annoyed that my blondie zoas are not reproducing compared to the goblin fires that are taking over. But I find humor that they appear to be their own critter. They makeit look like the plug has eyes Quote Link to comment
