SandunReefSL
Hi guys. I have soft coral tank. My ALK is now at 8KH. ( Tested by Salifert) I need to raise it to 9KH. So i bought seachem fusion 2. How should i determine the dosing amount to raise it by 1KH. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Why do you need to raise it to 9? 8 dkh is perfectly normal. Dosing is not done to reach a number but to replenish what corals consume. Dosing willy Nilly is a disaster waiting to happen. Your target dkh is what your salt mixes at. So my advice and the same as the majority- don't dose to reach some sort of magic number. You does to replenish daily loss. In a soft coral tank, dosing shouldn't even need to be done 2 Quote Link to comment

There is a seachem dosing calculator app. :) Quote Link to comment
Brandonmw
From my understanding you will need to also does fusion 1 as both alk and calk work together and they need to be in balance. I have just recently started dosing myself and from my research both need to go in to balance. I also have a lot of lps and a few sps so my tank is really starting to consume them. As for calculating what you need the bottles give you directions just divide the number for your tank size then double the dose to raise. I tested my tank every day for a week to see what I am currently using. My kh is usually 8.5 but in 24 hours goes to 7 so to maintain 8.5 I need 3 times the does for my tank size. Doing this my corals have never looked better. I’m no expert but this is what has worked for me. Quote Link to comment
