Withers Posted September 15, 2004 Share Posted September 15, 2004 lol, i can believe he got banned. blacklights will make some of your corals look amazing at night. i don't know if i'd use it as a moonlight though, because i have no idea what kind of effects it would have long term. LED's are much easier to use, and you can put a dimmer on them. i had one made for me, with a dimmer, for $20, maybe check around the DIY forum and see if someone will build you one. Link to comment
matt the fiddler Posted September 15, 2004 Share Posted September 15, 2004 black lights have the wrong spectrum in them for reef use. . they basically will encourage a whole heck of a lot of pest algaes and other stuff to grow.. so use with caution there are other LEDS that light up and make the florsence glow! check some of them out Link to comment
