NanoRox
I am toying with the idea of making my own AIO insert to converts a standard 10 gallon tank. My question is, how thick should the acrylic be? 1/4 inch? 1 Quote Link to comment
bluerrpilot
1/8 is plenty 2 Quote Link to comment
bluerrpilot
if you use a heat gun, you can bend it too 1 Quote Link to comment
Joevember
The acrylic doesn't need to do anything but separate the water in the back from the display. It really doesn't hold any pressure in the tank so it can be pretty thin. Quote Link to comment
MainelyReefer
Made one for a cheap frag tank to sell at my local frag swaps. 3G Mr.Aqua tank with 1/8" acrylic, no baffles but I made a cool filter floss holder for basic filtration. for all the effort I would maybe consider upgrading the plan from a standard 10g and look for something like and aquamaxx or Mr. Aqua for unique shapes etc. 4 Quote Link to comment
NanoRox
Perfect. Thanks guys. Yeah I have spare 10 gallon I want to tinker with. I love to sculpt etc so I plan on using reef safe resin/plastic sculpting compounds and sculpt a rock formation into the filter wall that will also hide the nozzles etc. will probably start a build thread on it. Wish me luck. Quote Link to comment
REEFreefLJS85
Well if its a 20 gallon or a 40 gallon breeder, Fiji AIO Box is the way to go. I think they make other sizes as well 2 hours ago, GraniteReefer said: Made one for a cheap frag tank to sell at my local frag swaps. This looks really good. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
StevieT
1/8" would be plenty, but 3/16" would be easier to work with if you have not had much experience with acrylic. 1/4" would be overkill and way too expensive. 1 Quote Link to comment

Perfect. Thank you. I will go with 3/16. 2 Quote Link to comment
