I have found that emeralds eat them a bit and dolabella sea hares eat them fairly well but they are difficult to keep in a tank without much algae. I’ve heard yellow coris wrasse may eat them, but I’m already fully stocked so I can’t really test that out. All my yellow coris wrasses have jumped to their death 2 Quote Link to comment

The colors on the conch looked so pretty yesterday; I was glad I was able to get a good picture. 🙂 Yes, the GSP is growing pretty fast... I need to set up my return and intake protection pretty soon. I’m hoping it won’t look too busy with it covering the back wall; so far I’m liking it. Also hoping it won’t be a big problem because GSP seems to be fairly sensitive to hydroids, which I still struggle with. Ideally I would have done an encrusting cyphastrea or montipora on the back wall; I think that would have made a nice backdrop, but things were growing so slowly for me as it was, so I decided to go with a fast grower... I am not a patient reefer; that saying about nothing good happening fast in a reef tank bounces right off of me. 😜 I think this tank is going to turn into a tiny jungle over time, and it may not take too long now that I’m dosing iodide and two part haha... things are really starting to spread. 1 Quote Link to comment

Testing the limits on how many pics we can post haha. I love photographing the tanks, as I’m sure you can tell. I think I’m still in the honeymoon phase of reefing... still totally obsessed... I think I could look at reef tank pictures all day long. Which reminds me... I need to order that new Reef Lens set that just came out... looks pretty sweet. 3 Quote Link to comment

For now it's going to be a background instead. 1 Quote Link to comment

Cpl_Wiggles
Such vivid pictures! Love it. If I may, I think you would do the BioCube Community a big service if you were to edit your first post and make it a type of "Home Page" - with a recent FTS as well as equipment, back chamber shots/strategies, feeding, and cleaning schedules you do to make such a wonderful tank. It's amazing how much stuff you have going on with two tanks, pod cultures, etc - I think I need a formal list to keep track of it all! I also selfishly want to know so I can set my tank up to be as successful as yours. 😉 2 Quote Link to comment

What a big compliment, especially coming from you, since I really learned what to do with my Biocube from you and Jackal when I was getting started. The only downside is that I’m sure you have jinxed me, and my tank will surely crash now haha. 😩😂 I like your idea of editing my initial post... every time I see it, I cringe and think tl;dr. I was such a forum noob when I wrote it. 😬😂 I’ll change it up over the weekend. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cannedfish
Wow. That spider sponge is simply amazing!! It really makes me want one! Do you have any issues with algae growing on it? Is it photosynthetic? it is easy to care for? Have you seen any growth? Who were the two men on the grassy knoll? I have so many questions... 1 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Haha @Cannedfish the two men on the grassy knoll. 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, so glad I stuck it out with the spider sponge. I got it in November and the encrusting zoanthids didn’t start to open up until the beginning of this month. At first it would get pretty covered with algae that was difficult to prevent/remove with flow or a turkey baster... I really thought it was a goner... then I actually started wiping it off by hand, which seems sketchy but seems to have worked. 😳😂 I don’t think I would recommend that practice though haha. Gotta get to work now, but I’ll tell you more of my observations about feeding it over the weekend. 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Well I rehomed the leather in the bottom left of my tank, freeing up some space, so of course I had room for some new additions - a chili coral, a branching dendro, and a regular dendro. Still working on placement, so I’ll post more pics once I settle on the best spot for everyone, but here’s what we have for now. Not so sure I’ll keep the chili... 5 Quote Link to comment

I thought it was so interesting when I saw one in the display tank at the LFS... was glad they had one for sale. They said it’s a dendro, but it could be a sun, so if anyone knows for sure let me know. Apparently the branches should also have flesh on them... they don’t think it will grow back. 1 Quote Link to comment
Daniel91
Looks like a bunch of mini fathead dendros. That’ll be interesting to see grow! Easy to frag as well lol 1 Quote Link to comment
