Lol Great photo again Thanks, no he doesn’t, that’s why he’s so awesome to photograph... he is so still I can wait until the clownfish swim into the frame. He used to hang out on the candy canes more but I fragged one and repositioned the other so I think he’s protesting. All my pics lately look the same. I need to get more creative but I’ve really just been snapping quick shots rather than getting great photos... should spend a little more time, but the three tanks do make me feel a bit unfocused. Plus I’m kinda unhappy with this tank right now cuz my two of my favorite rock flower nems moved out of their spots a couple months ago. 1 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Last night was one of those nights where I looked over at the tank and it was especially beautiful... I was super excited to get some nice pics before heading to bed. I’m in the middle of a chemiclean treatment and the sinularia seems to be especially happy with the reduction in cyano. 5 Quote Link to comment

I seriously considered getting a YCG for the Evo 5 as well, but it seems weird, so I think I’ve decided on a citron goby for my new fish in that other tank. 1 Quote Link to comment

Was thinking of getting rid of some of the chunkier bristleworms in my tank too. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I think so... the holes are pretty small so the bigger bristleworms get stuck in them and block the holes, but even when that happens it’s still fairly beneficial because you’re still catching 3 big ones and a bunch of bristleworms still congregate under the trap during the night and then when you pull out the trap you can grab a bunch more out from under it with long forceps before they wake up and scurry off. It never ceases to amaze me that I can catch at least 20-30 bristleworms every time I use it! 2 1 Quote Link to comment

banasophia
Thought I should get a pic last night cuz I’m going to frag the gorgonians waayyy back today for some local reefers (and because that one is blocking the light too much). 5 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Another prefragging shot, this one under whites... took this one last weekend and forgot to post. 6 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Well, rather than fragging corals I ended up doing an unexpected lighting “upgrade” today because my lights suddenly went out while I was standing next to the tank. I ordered a replacement lid with the stock LEDs, but it won’t arrive until Thursday, so I scrambled around trying to come up with a plan. I remembered I’d bought a kessil a80 from a friend of mine as a possible upgrade for my Evo 5 and after tearing apart my house for what seemed like a couple hours looking for it, my kiddo asked what I was looking for and directed me right to the spot where she’d put it in the garage. Anyway, after a trip to Lowe’s for some egg crate to make a lid, I got it set up and I’ll be enjoying a different look with the kessil lighting for a few days. 1 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Did you ever run the kessil on the nuvo 10? 1 Quote Link to comment

No, I ran an AI Prime on the Nuvo 10 and I wasn’t a big fan of it, mainly because I had a lot of trouble connecting it to my WiFi so I couldn’t adjust the settings. I don’t have the controller for this kessil, so I have to turn it on and off and adjust it manually. If I was going to use it long term, I would invest in the controller. 1 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Sun corals are getting ready to spawn tonight. I always freak out a little at first when I see them go limp, thinking I’ve crashed the tank and killed them, but when the clowns start fixating on them I know they’re just getting ready to do their thang. 5 Quote Link to comment
