slooye
Tank is looking great. The black sand looks super sleek with your corals! 1 Quote Link to comment
SURVEYMAN46123
I've never been a huge fan of the black sand, but you are pulling it off my man. Will be following along as your tank matures. 1 Quote Link to comment
Daniel91
I just realized that it’s been a month since I updated thread. I will upload pictures during the week, I have a few new additions and will be getting more throughout the week. For now, I guess I’ll share what I aquarium related purchases I made Black Friday; Chiller RO/DI Buddie Fluval Evo 13 (I guess one tank is not enough) Hydor Powerheads and Wave Controller (dirt cheap offer) Quote Link to comment
Daniel91
New corals; Torch and a sunburst monti. I really hope the monti does well, such a great piece. Please disregard the digitata pieces/frags - I think I fried it when I got it a few weeks back. 2 Quote Link to comment
falcooo
That Monti looks awesome. I'm sure it'll thrive in your tank, mine have been easy and fast growing. Where are you thinking about placing it in the tank? Quote Link to comment

Daniel91
December Update - 6 months and 3 days into reefing. Very hard for me to upload this picture. Everything is a mess visually; Placemenent, rock work etc. I’ve been extremely busy with work, so hopefully in January, I’ll get a chance to finalize placement of corals. However, overall all live stock is happy - besides my two hammers; one took a hit due to high phosphates, one is victim to too much clown fish loving. Have to get them an anemone! 3 Quote Link to comment
Daniel91
7 months, 4 days into reefing. A whole month since I updated this thread. Overall I am happy. Still ton of room, so we’ll see what “fillers” I find. - The RO/(DI) I was getting from the LFS had a TDS of 77. I caught it very late because it definitely took a toll on my hammers and candy canes. They receeded - hopefully they can bounce back. + I switched from Tropic Marin (LFS) to my own water and Red Sea Blue = Everything is thriving and recovering Here’s some pics, I really do not run blues that high and they do not do these corals justice... 3 Quote Link to comment

Daveg99
I like your aquascape. Looks like about 6lbs of rock. I have 10lbs in my IM10 and I think it's too much 1 Quote Link to comment

Not sure I am satisfied yet, but it gives me the change to place all types of coral. 20 minutes ago, JBM said: Cool nano you have there. Thank you sir! 1 Quote Link to comment

Think this coral is ok under stock light? Or should I wait until I get my light upgraded? Nanobox mini tide M is my plan. Quote Link to comment

Nanobox mini tide M is my plan. Euphyllia is pretty hardy generally and do well under a variety of light. Start with a small frag and see - the stock light has worked well for others 🙂 Quote Link to comment
Daniel91
Hmm.. I need to get better at updating this thing. Tank is both good and bad - I am noticing growth in most corals but some are having a hard time. I am struggling with high nutrients and I can’t find the source - no overfeeding, no overstock, vacuum the sand bed every week.... My anemone has done well in the last few months; 2 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Thanks for the update. 🙂 Nem looks great... is it hosting your clowns? How high are your nutrients? Have you changed your filter media lately? 1 Quote Link to comment

Have you changed your filter media lately? Hey, Sophia - thanks! My clowns will host ANYTHING but the nem lol however it’s currently being kept company by my anemone crab. We’re looking at 15-25 Nitrates according to Salifert - this is not crazy high but it’s after a 20% gallon change. Phosphate TBD - I have a friend coming over with a Hannah checker. I changed my Seachem Matrix Carbon about a week and a half ago. Do it every 3 weeks. 1 Quote Link to comment
Daniel91
Meh - female clown jumped ship. I’ve been without lid for almost 3 months. I knew the risk but still tough. 2 Quote Link to comment
