Alexraptor
How sensitive are Tridacna's to fluctuations in water parameters? I.E say is it possible to keep them in a SPS/LPS heavy system and only rely on regular water changes? I do have a dosing unit, but haven't used it for ages on account that it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. My LPS and SPS seem much healthier and happier with regular water changes rather than constant fiddling with the dosing unit and its fluids. Quote Link to comment
RayWhisperer
You can get away with it for a while, stock depending. I wouldn’t try it on anything over 2 or 3 inches, though. Especially with a stock of stony corals. Ive always found dosers to be troublesome. Even the pricey units, like the liter meter. Instead, try daily hand dosing, oruse your doser with kalk. I’ve found kalk to work great with dosers. Quote Link to comment
