Predatory Amphipod / Isopod infested my Condylactis

I noticed my Condylactis gigantea partially retracted several days ago. The anemone remained in this state for 24 hours, so I decided to feed it some thawed krill which he readily accepts. Upon doing so I noticed he wasn't sticky but was able to embrace the offering and direct it towards it's oracle disk opening. Upon further inspection I witnessed several pod like creatures scurrying around on it. This morning the anemone was inverted and the foot was partially devoured. Is the Condy beyond saving? How can I eliminate these pests? Are my Rock Flower Anemones in danger? Any information would be appreciated.

Amphipods tend to attack when the victim is already weakened or dying.

Upon further investigation, I found the heater to be defective. Apparently the Anemone was intolerant to the temperature fluctuations and was in a weakened state. Thank you for your insight WV Reefer. I will be upgrading to a digital thermometer and a reputable brand heater.

At least you know the reason. 🙂

Heaters are the weak link as far as equipment goes.
