Ctothemiller
Hey everyone, i have just recently got back into the hobby after a break for some time. I ended up geting one of the fluval 2.6 gallon specs and modding it slightly. I cut some of the baffling out of the back to accomodate a hang on back fluval 30 filter for media and heater storage. Then i left part of the divider in the back and have half live rock and half for my pumps n other gadgets and some chaeto in the future. Plans are some small lps and softies and maybe add a small fish but not positive on what id like yet. I am currently using the stock lighting until my nanobox mini tide plus arrives. Im super excited to be back in the hobby and on the forum! Im always open to suggestions and tips as its been a while since i have been into the hobby. I want to get a few nassarius snails for the sand soon as well but for now I have added. 2 astrea snail 4 blue leg hermits 1 pom pom crab 4 sexy shrimp 3 Quote Link to comment

Five.five-six
Off to a great start. Looks like marshal islands rock, where did you get it? 2 harlequin? What do you plan on feeding them? Quote Link to comment
Ctothemiller
Christopher Marks thanks! Crazy to think i join this forum for the first time when i was about 14 and rejoined now at 30 😅 Five.five-six thanks! they're actually sexy shrimp. As much as id like harlequins i dont have the time to dedicate to feeding and finding stars for them. I suprisingly got the rock at petco locally and was supriswd they had some decent stuff. Update i decided to grab 2 more sexies for the tank today as well as a pair of bumblebee and nassarius snails. I also added some chaeto to the sump/fuge area and a small gsp frag thats already started opening after being in the tank for an hour. 3 Quote Link to comment

I have a couple update pics of the gps all opened up and a few sexies have taken to it as a host for now. Everything is going great and i have ordered a clown goby, tailsoot bleddy ( make catch some guff for 2 fish in the tank but they both are 2 inch or less specieas as well as i have the sump / fuge and hob for extra bolume. I also got a second pom pom, porcelain crab, another 2 nassarius (small), 2 small cerith snails. Everything is testing out perfect 0's round the board and ph 8.4. I know 2 small fish is pushing it but with the added sump and hob i have a nice extra gallon or so of water volume plus its packed w chaeto and rock to help cotrol the load in thoery. If anyone starts to look bad i will rehome it but im confident in them.working together both being 2 inch and under species that inhabit different water levels. Quote Link to comment
Ctothemiller
Got the new additions today and got them in the tank. Everything went great and everyone is already eating and happy. The blenny stays in the rocks for now until food comes out but the porcelain crab, clown goby and pom pom crab are all out and social. Once the new light arrives in a week or two il start adding more corals. 1 Quote Link to comment

Ctothemiller
A little bonus surprise popped up tonight in the tank I was looking at where my pom pom crabs hang out and the female has a clutch of eggs now. Also here are some more photos of the corals, fish and inverts 😊🙃 everyone seems happy and the fungia plate seems to be recoving from the bleaching issue now i have moved it. The torch is also in the process of splitting mouths. The duncan, acans and gps are all filling out nicely as well. The blenny and goby even hang out in the same cave together sometimes. Seems like life is good for these lil fellas 😎 Quote Link to comment

Ctothemiller
A little weekly update for everything. the porcelain crab and most of the sexy shrimp have molted, and everything is doing good and growing with the exception of my orange plate. It has been on and off it was doing good for a while. I went on vacation for a week and it started bleaching more but then I started spot feeding it again last night and saw a little bit of recovery so hopefully it just needs daily spot feedings we will see. The fish seem to get along great so far too along with all the inverts and everything I've been really happy with how everything's been going. 1 Quote Link to comment
