Json
Good day everyone, I just need a little bit opinion with my stocking. Currently, I have a clownfish, 1 dottyback, 10 nassarius snails and 2 turbo snails. I am wondering if adding a blue mandarin goby will hurt my tank's chemistry? My tank is stable, got my skimmer running well together with a hob with purigen, carbon, and a little does of phosguard. Thank you everyone! Quote Link to comment
1.0reef
Wouldn’t recommend that, even if the dragonet is eating prepared foods it’s better to have a larger system or at least a refugium with them imo. Considering you have a skimmer, you should be fine adding a small species of goby that is less likely to be bullied by other tankmates, shrimp Gobies and their symbiotic pistol shrimps are always great additions. Reefermadness2011
I also wouldn't do that Quote Link to comment
Clown79
I'd advise doing a TON of research on the mandarin and still advise not to get one. They are a lot of work, a lot is required of you, a lot needs to be done to prep to have one. A 16g isn't exactly the best size for a Mandarins survival. I don't recommend it especially: For an inexperienced hobbiest The size of tank You have aggressive fish that are aggressive eaters. Quote Link to comment
