cbort
In all of the years I have been in the reefing hobby, I something I have never been able to achieve is more than 1 display. I have often been able to keep and display and a frag tank, but time, money, or space has usually kept me from multiple set ups. I love all sorts of fish and corals, but there are many fish and corals that i believe are too risky to keep housed in the same display due to aggression, size of tank/livestock, etc. This display tank will officially be my 2nd complete display tank and will house mainly softies and LPS. I am dedicating this tank to 1 particular inhabitant named "Igor". Igor is a Green Moray Eel, and is going to get VERY big!! Green Morays can live for a very long time if cared for properly and housed in a dedicated display! For these reasons, I purposely have avoided sourcing one until I was in a situation that would allow me to properly care for one. In the 15ish years that I have been in the hobby, I have frequented many LFS's in the midwest and have never come across a Green Moray for sale. The few that I have seen are generally at Zoos, Aquariums, or a Restaurant. A few weeks back I had wandered into a LFS and came across Igor! The LFS was nice enough even to house Igor until I had set up a proper display for him. Finding a display tank to house Igor was very challenging! I don't mean to offend anyone, but the typical rectangular shaped display with a canopy is not my style! I am drawn to cubes or custom shapes, and most importantly rimless open top designs. Searching for something outside the box was challenging, but I recently came across what I am going to be calling..."Igor's Peninsula". The display is absolutely gorgeous! It's 60" Long, 24" Wide, and 30" Tall. Best part of all, the display is made of 1/2" glass and features heavy panels for enclosing the top as well. The filtration will be very basic. I will be utilizing a custom glass sump, over-sized skimmer, and 2 MP40QD pumps. Igor will eventually outgrow this display, and but until then, this will be his home! Currently I am finishing up the stand and canopy for the display, and hope to bring Igor home very soon! Plenty of more updates to come! 4 Quote Link to comment

I currently have an 8” Niger possibly going in with him. I am also looking for a golden puffer, blue ribbon eel, zebra Moray and possibly a tessalata Moray. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lula_Mae
You might find Felicia's predator paradise interesting. It was quite a bit smaller than this but had several lionfish and I believe a snowflake eel. Another very unique tank! Quote Link to comment
thebunb
Wow can't wait to see the progress. Igor would definitely be a holy grail fish for me I keep a golden dwarf moray eel in the mean time #nano-reef lol Quote Link to comment
