Archer Pup has been clinging to me since my last trip. Thanks for sharing the ugly algae phase, it's a fact of life! 😄 You got it under control pretty quickly though. Besides the tuxedo urchins, what else is in your new cleanup crew? Archer! How is he? You have to post pictures, I haven't seen him in a while. Critters of the glass box So this is one of 2 or 3 freeloaders in the tank. Pep shrimps. All they do is eat my food and dance. 😡 I have 3 Tuxedos, not sure what makes their spines a different color - could it be gender or regions they come from or what Emerald crabs are one of my favorites, people don't care for crabs in general but I enjoy having a variety of emeralds, hermits of all shapes and sizes too. Tiger Nassarius I have other snails also - turbos, astreas, turbans, trochus, nassarius vibex, ceriths, nerites. 3 hours ago, Cutter79 said: I am in week 3 of my reefer 350 build. Just installed the curve 5. its been running for 3 days, I raised it up about a inch and a half. Still overflowing like crazy, not sure if I should let it keep running or shut it off? I have the overflow from the curve pouring into a filter sock. Thoughts? You can let it run - it can take a week or more to break in. Play with the air intake valve to open all the way or close all the way to see which makes the least amount of overflow that you are okay with. You can also raise it. There is a good chance that your organics aren't enough to produce good skimmate. 4 Quote Link to comment
Cutter79
Thanks. Ya dont care so much about the skimmate yet just hoping this thing settles down soon LOL 1 Quote Link to comment

metrokat
Good thing I see only one, I think I had 3 but I see 2 shells 1 Quote Link to comment
seabass
Some think they can't survive as scavengers because they are predators and might need more meaty food (or be fed). The shells are sure pretty though. Quote Link to comment

Nano sapiens
'Need about tree fiddy'...??? My son used to talk about 'Fiddy-Cent' a while back, so I wonder if this is somehow related? 😉 That algae forest was a classic, but good to see it has gone away. Rockscape all set or still working it? 1 Quote Link to comment
seabass
The rest of the story is pretty funny too: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9cn7xfBpZ3M Quote Link to comment

Rockscape all set or still working it? Hey you. Yeah it's South Park like Seabass posted. The algae is in spots now - rockscape is different on the left side but still a work in progress. I'm still installing all the equipment if you can believe it - have had a case of the lazies. I installed the calcium doser yesterday and made a batch of new alkalinity supplement. I use Brightwell 8.3 powder. My brain fried so I made the solution about 4 times stronger - math is not my strong suite. But anyway - I got that figured out eventually. Going for some retail therapy today to the LFS - I need more fish in my life. Calleigh likes to watch bird tv. Went to the Hamptons last weekend - house full of friends - good times. 4 Quote Link to comment

Looks like he's gonna go have a date with Stripey, he's a stone cold mollusc killa. This being Stripey. sna66
Sweet, I recently moved to a bigger reef as well, picked up a Reefer 250 and love it, still a nano some might say, but I did the build thread elsewhere https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/rich’s-reefer-250.408052/#post-4916421 Quote Link to comment
