Remediless
Hi all, Just joined the community and after having FW tanks around 5-6 years decided to have Saltwater. Did a lot of research and finally 2 weeks ago started to cycle that tank. So I made my own tank from ClearGlass 38x38x35 cm Equipments; Sicce Voyager Nano 1000 EHEIM JÄGER 75W thermostatic heaters Caribsea Hawaiian black live sand 6kg dry rock LemanBest Reflectometer HIPARGERO LED Aquarium Light 30w still, there are some stuff which I am looking to buy like; Tidal 55 HOB Filter Eheim Skim Marine 100 nano Chemi-Pure Blue Cycling is on going, -11.05.2018- Sallanity 1.026 Temp 25 C Ammonia 1 ppm Nitrite 4 ppm Nitrate 50 ppm Bought Salifert Ammonia test, I was using Seachem MultiTest Ammonia but as it is very difficult to use and taking more time to do test I decided to get Salifert. Probably my after my next purchase I will also get RO/DI unit, for now I just got RO water from Aquarium shop. Here are the first pics; Thank you. Quote Link to comment
Remediless
Hi all, After today's test, observed that my Ammonia level is "0". Now Nitrite is reached to peak point of my test, which is 4 ppm. I will wait Nitrite level decrease to "0" then I will do 50% water change and add one more time Ammonia, to check if level will reach again to "0" in 24H. Water parameters from today; -13.05.2018- Sallanity 1.026 Temp 25 C Ammonia 0 ppm Nitrite 4 ppm Nitrate 50 ppm Quote Link to comment
Remediless
Hi all, After today's test saw that Nitrite is decreasing, I will wait Nitrite level decrease to "0" for doing 50% water change. Water parameters from today; -22.05.2018- Sallanity 1.026 Temp 25 C Ammonia 0 ppm Nitrite 0.1 ppm Nitrate 50 ppm seems in 4 weeks I will be done with cycling. 🙂 Quote Link to comment
Remediless
Hi all, Cycling is done and I did around 75% water change. Water parameters right now; -27.05.2018- Sallanity 1.025 Temp 25 C Ammonia 0 ppm Nitrite 0 ppm Nitrate 0.25 ppm Now I am thinking for filter options, at the beginning I was thinking for Tidal HOB filter but maybe I will go for canister. I know that it is not recommended generally on reef tank to use canister but if I will use canister I will not fill whole background with staff like filter, heater etc. and also I think I will not be lazy for husbandry of filter so I dont think I will have issue with it. Here are some pic before adding live stock 🙂 Quote Link to comment
