BrandonD32
I have been using hydrometers successfully for 14+ years, but I am looking to change to a refractometer. I was considering the Milwaukee digital, but I have decided that I would like a cheaper option if there are any. Are there any cheap options that are decently accurate out there? Nocturnal
I've been using this one for a couple months now and it seems pretty good. Excellent reviews too. Out of the box it was pretty close on calibration (.02 off IIRC) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018LRO1SU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quote Link to comment

Sailingeric
I got this one and it works great and if you store in a temp stable place, it holds the calibration. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/refractometer-for-reading-salinity-with-calibration-fluid.html Quote Link to comment
Nolesx4
I got a $20 one from Amazon and the 35ppm calibration fluid. It works great but found it took a few adjustments/calibrations to get it to consistently read 35ppm. Otherwise it beat the hydrometer I had in the past. Quote Link to comment
BrandonD32
Thanks for the input! I was just about to order one of those from Amazon and then found a Milwaukee digital locally for a price I couldn't pass up. 1 Quote Link to comment
