They are a little pricey, but worth it. 2 Quote Link to comment

IM UV filter comes with sponge like that covers top of Uv filter. You could also use extrafine floss on top of it for water polishing. 1 Quote Link to comment

I found media rack useful in my IM30 but there is no need for that in IM14 frag setup. Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Fan arrived and I have to say...... I am impressed. Both with features, quality and packaging. It comes with a sensor, fan, controller and some wire management hardware. Here are some pics: 1 Quote Link to comment

specore
So are you putting some sort of ventilation panel on the other side of the cabinet for fresh air to enter? 1 Quote Link to comment

specore
FYI- I opened up the Varios 2 tonight and the media basket/floss holder is handling the flow. I do have to keep the filter floss angled in the baskets to do it. I think it was you I was discussing the Varios pumps with the other day 1 Quote Link to comment

I think it was you I was discussing the Varios pumps with the other day Yes, I am considering Varios 2 as a possible upgrade over Jebao 2000dc pump. Flow increase is something I am looking for as my Jebao pump set to maximum flow isn’t enough to sufficiently provide that random pattern that Vivid RFG generator nozzles are capable of. How you like your flow? Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Don’t know the name of this coral but it did recover nicely from losing flesh due to light overexposure. Fastest growers (the obvious) •Caps •Forest Fire Still alive and kicking IM UV filter has a sponge like mechanical filter on top. I think I’ll put a small ChemiPure Nano Blue bag on top of it. IM14 waiting patiently to get wet. Maybe this weekend. 🙄 I will go with this setting for HD Prime. I do like the idea of ramp Up-Down periods throughout the day. Edit: almost forgot. Alk drop after 6day vacation is being addressed. At the moment Alk is at 8.6. 9.0-9.4 is the target. It should take few more days to get there. Everything else is good. Not sure if it is relevant but dosing Iodine seems to stop and prevent bleaching acros from the bottom (had that issue while experimenting with elevated Alk). Advice I took from very well known aquarist, and it seems to work. 1 Quote Link to comment

Wish that I could share this frag tank with you guys as soon as possible. But I need to get it right and make sure that it works in space that is quite challenging. From limited space, high temperature, gas exchange issues, complex wiring for both tanks in one cramped space to making it functional as a 2nd-tank/frag-tank/quarantine-tank. But I’ll try my best to get it wet very soon. 2 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Finally found few hours to start IM14 Peninsula frag-tank project. After getting wires, power bars in order, it is time to get old junk from the cabinet out. Got some slide out storage shelves that will come handy. All junk, test kits, fish/coral food etc will go in there. Now it’s time to put some protection from occasional spillage. Dry fit of ATO and the tank. ALL FITS NICELY! Tommorow, Fan installation, tank prep, WiFi power bars setup and some spray painting. Hoping to finish it all on Monday as I am awaiting the last delivery from Am@zon of extra Velcro and another Wifi power bar. 1 Quote Link to comment

A Little Blue
Painted 5” tank riser, installed exhaust fan (hot air will vet out into the wall). I chose the most logical location for it, which is just a several inches from AI Prime light (same height). I haven’t installed the controller yet. Fan is powered by one of programmable usb outlets on WiFi power bar. I also installed small shelf on the cabinet door for my 2part solutions. Jebao doser will be mounted right above that. Plastic spacers keep the bottles from sliding or falling off the shelf. Next update on cabinet TLC tommorow. Frag tank will function only as a coral quarantine/grow tank (not a fish hospital tank). I do plan to have some fish in it. What fish? Not sure yet. Maybe some captive bred Pipefish..... but that won’t happen for a while. If I won’t be able to find healthy, prep food fed pair, then maybe a six line or Yellow Coris wresse. Starcki Damsel is also an option. Trying to utilize every available inch of space. Testing temp. inside the cabinet and efficiency of the exhaust fan (light ON at 33Watts at 15K but without UV light/pump/heater ON). 1 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Buying phytoplankton is getting expensive so I’ll start cultivating my own in few weeks. If anyone is curious, this is what you are gonna need to start your own phyto-mini-farm: •container (I like this 1.5 cheap dosing container • phytoplankton to start your own culture •food for phytoplankton • cheap light • cheap air pump BTW, frag tank is wet and running. I’ll post detail equipment and setup later. Here are few pics: 1 Quote Link to comment
