That gif is exactly how it felt. :) Clam haven't received any pity nor did it get a fighting chance. I wasn't going to watch it die slow and miserable death. I felt that crabs deserved something to look forward to since I don't feed that tank at all. It was a very expensive meal tho. Thanks for the kind words ;) 2 Quote Link to comment
1891Bro
I was at one of the LFSs the other day and they had an IM 30L as a display. It was a planted FW but it was the first time I saw one in person. What awesome dimensions for an aio. Everything looks good. Keep it up. 1 Quote Link to comment

To me, that's a LOT. If you're patient, you can find them between 100-150 per head. Those are not aussi tourches. Long, thin tentacles are %99 indos. They're just rare and have a fancy name. 2 Quote Link to comment

I went with Sea Grapes from very beginning. It’s growing mad. Great way to export nutrients by trimming on regular bases. Also great place for pods to multiply and graze. 1 Quote Link to comment
specore
ahhh... That stuff scares me, I've personally seen it take over a display tank in a LFS. 1 Quote Link to comment

It’s not in display part of the tank. Two of back chambers were converted to macro algae fuge. I keep it on 16-17hrs photosynthetic cycle. From 1am- 5pm. No issues so far. 2 Quote Link to comment

A Little Blue
IM Hydrofill installed. Tunze producing some nasty skim. Need to organize mess in the cabinet under my tank. Hopefully I’ll get some of it cleaned up over the weekend. 1 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Not much of an update. I’m warming up to Tunze skimmer. It took a while to break-in. However, it was relatively easy to adjust it during that period with DC pump and controller. I originally planned on writing my first impressions/review but there isn’t really much to write about. It works, has nice/useful features, it could have been a bit more silent while skimming, installation was straight forward but required some modifications to overflow compartment in order to make it fit and work at its best. So far, so good. I’ll give it a 7 out of 10. After 6 weeks of slow light adjustment/acclimation (and upgrading from one to two Kessils) my setting is captured in the image below. Goal is to reach %100. It might take another 4-6 weeks. (Port 2 is for Kessil H80 fuge light) Trying to keep salinity at 1.025/1.026, Alk between 8.5/9.5, Ca at 450 and Mg between 1390-1440. Drs. Foster & Smith had some amazing sale few days ago and I did pulled a trigger on IM Peninsula 14 gallon tank and Hydrofill ATO reservoir. It should arrive on Wednesday. If it arrives in one piece (fingers crossed), I’ll start setting it up over the next few weeks. I’ll keep you in suspense on that build tho. IM Hydrofill ATO vs Tunze nano ATO...... well, there is definitely a difference between the two. Main difference: •IM Hydrofill pump is a bit more noisy • Hydrofill is more precise and keeps the water level exactly where I want it • No worries regarding sediment or snails getting float stock. IMHO it is a great ATO system and it’s a clear upgrade over Tunze Nano ATO. Tunze will be moved to new IM14g frag tank. 3 Aqamai pumps create quite a flow and I’m happy to report that there is zero detritus buildup or sediment of any kind. All fish and corals are doing fine except Elegance coral that was moved to quarantine tank (it didn’t like the extra flow). %75 intensity %20white 2weeks ago %80 intensity %15white today 5 Quote Link to comment

A Little Blue
Frag tank setup is slowly shaping up (Fortunately, tank and ATO reservoir survived delivery from Drs. Foster&Smith). IM 14 Fusion Peninsula arrived in one piece. IM Hydrofill 5g ATO reservoir will be shared by IM30L and frag tank. I’ll probably upgrade stock pump on IM14 for better flow and add IM UV light. Media basket or Mame skimmer for additional filtration (or maybe both). Can’t decide on the light. 🙄 I am torn between Kessil, Prime or some other, cheaper alternatives. 4 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Accessorizing IM 14 frag tank with equipment that I’m really not familiar with. But I am confident that it will work out just fine. 1 Quote Link to comment

What are you going to use for light? I have been a Kessil guy for a long time but pulled a trigger on HD Prime based on very favorable reviews and owner experiences. Perhaps I should start a new build thread on this setup? Quote Link to comment
