In little bags, no protection from rock? 😮 Lmao No! 🤣 I was frag hopping all over the Island. From fellow reefers to LFS that I really like. Collecting frags, getting some unexpected, spontaneous goodies and then, getting home to clean all that s&$t out from pests, algae, aiptasia and other surprises. I also got favorite algae reactor for my future Pipefish dedicated tank with minimalistic filtration based on Miracle Mud and algae reactor. 1 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Quadruple dipping in Bayer, peroxide. Then cutting, brushing and re-plugging. Huge rock is actually wall of GSP on frag rock with huge magnet that lets you mounted on the wall. 1 Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Another light adjustment week. Extended peak hours. Intensity at %80. Phyto mini-farm is doing OK. Progress of growth after 3 days. 1 Quote Link to comment

It’s in the frag tank tho. Quote Link to comment

I needed something that won’t shade corals below. I didn’t know you had one.... I was looking for one for a while now. Guy was nice enough to cut it from their display tank. Quote Link to comment

I have a big colony- like an seven or eight inch main branch shooting off stubs out of a couple places. Super nice coral. Its hit the waterline, but then I just chop it and it splits into to branches 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment

And it doesn’t shade corals below. If you have any other Stags than green or purple, let me know. I need to check your build more often. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to actively follow every thread I like. But I’ll do my best. 4 minutes ago, HarryPotter said: Not here, this ain’t my thread. Nah just green and the one I posted above, which has blue growth tips with a darker more purple/brown body. The 300 gallon “ultimate” tank. Loaded with goodies! I have photos posted in my Reefer 350 thread. Quote Link to comment

Erm, the Reefer 350 is 350 liters. 4 feet wide, I forget the other dimensions. Find them online 😛 The 300 gallon is like 8 feet wide, 27 inches tall, and 30 inches wide (or 24, I forget). It’s big. It had to be 6-7f (maybe 8 lol) long 3 high and 3 wide. Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
Pretty much everything that I set out to kill in my IM30 was a great success. Lmao Elegance and Clam was on this short list. Both died with my help ofcause. 🤫 The only one from “kill list” hanging on is pair of Coco-worms. Not only that they refuse to die, they are showing quite a bit of growth. How big do they get? And I had no idea they can grow this fast. (Growth in the picture took about 4-5 weeks.) Quote Link to comment

Can you not just remove them? Never had one myself, but would have thought you could just snap it off at the base. 1 Quote Link to comment

I have to keep moving them around as they seem to like to extend their growth towards the front glass. That makes cleaning and maintenance a bit more difficult. PS. They don’t attach to anything. They are about foot long. 😉 Quote Link to comment

Do they use the entire tube, or just the last few inches? Would think you could trim them, like clipping nails lol They are gorgeous BTW Quote Link to comment

Honestly IDK and I never heard anyone trimming protective tube b4. As to how much part of the tube they actually use...... well, it’s a complicated question. They can go as far as several inches down the tube and the same amount from back to front. However, I figure they keep putting extension on their tube house as they grow to suit their actual size. I might trade them in for smaller ones I guess. Quote Link to comment
A Little Blue
A couple observations regarding IM UV filter and Mighty Jet return pump. UV filter does restrict the flow due to its design. That will raise the water level in display tank between 3/8”-1/2”. Some might find it desirable but it could be an issue if you pack back compartments with bunch of media and or polishing pad. Flow coming out of the stock nozzle is very flat and directional. It is also tricky to adjust for optimal coverage and randomness I was looking for. Overall, IM Mighty Jet is a very nice return pump. It needed some radical modification to optimize placement in the return chamber. Pump is quiet in operation and has some features that I found useful (like feed mode, speed adjustment and quiet operation) and some that I could easily live without ( random/wave mode). While playing with different modes, flow speed and nozzle placement, I just gave up and installed RFG nozzle from Vivid (same nozzles I use on my 30l). What a difference! I have to say, anyone using this tank should at very least try one. Great, random flow I was looking for. You might need to increase flow rate on your return pump as these nozzles are known to restrict flow (my estimation %25-30). (And yes, that’s a bubbletip in there..., after setting up this tank 5 day ago 😎, I’m sure I’ll get a lot of hate from tank cycling experts.) 🤣 Another 48hrs and phyto is done. Quote Link to comment
