Wiz's Shrimp Station Picotope

Hey Nano-Reef and Pico reefers! I've been in hibernation for a long time on this forum and reefing in general. Life got in the way, yada yada.... But I'M BACK. Had a bucket of Reef Crystals sitting around and I couldn't let it go to waste :P Also finally dumped photobucket for flickr which screwed up all my old threads, sorry if you run across them.

Aspiration for this tank: A simple and easy to care for pico. No skimmer, no fish. I have been big on shrimp lately.

Forewarning: I am terrible at keeping any kind of valid build or updates so please bare with me. As much as I love browsing many of your long threads with tons of pics, I may not reciprocate. I'm so bad, my new tank has been up, running, and has seen massive change without even a proper thread. Oh well, better late than never.

But I encourage any kind of comments, questions, discussion, and even pressure to update my thread. I would be glad to share my experiences and techniques. And hopefully this keeps me on top of this thread.

Welcome back!

Neat little tank. Love all the RFAs. Porcelain crabs are cool. I have a white one that goes from nem to nem.

The freshwater tank looks great too!

Rock Flower nems work well in pico tanks?  I always thought they got to large and were generally a pain in the ass for coral keepers.  Do they move a lot?

Thanks! I agree the porcelains are cool. My white nem one stay out a lot while the purples hide 25/8. You'd think in a 3 gallon you could see them more often.... NOPE.

Depends. I try not to feed them so they don't grow. Any anemone that you feed in my experience will explode in growth, happened to my old RBTAs and Haddoni. With RFA and maxi-mini's, good light and water and they stay relatively the same size. Also, yes these things move, some have moved more than other for me. Luckily the corals in there are for fun and I got either free or dirt cheap, just to prove to myself I can still grow them, no issues so far. Primary focus is the anemones.
