Ckane2
Also having some serious issues with aiptasia taking over one of my zoa rocks. I’d love to grab a couple of berghia nudibranchs but I don’t know of any place near me that has them. Any upstate NY reefers out there with some berghias for me? 😁 1 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Nice update. Tank look good. Do you plan on two tanks or will you move every thing over? Are you using one of the current pre programed settings or did you customize the lighting schedule? Good luck with school. Quote Link to comment

Haven’t thought about having two tanks, but the thought of taking this one down after having it for going on three years now makes me think two tanks might just happen. I customized the light schedule. Ramp up at 1pm, ramp down at 9pm, blues until late into the night. 2 Quote Link to comment
Ckane2
Going into month 31 of having this tank up and running. The past couple of months have been rough for my tank and my corals specifically. My current eflux pump failed me after about a year or maybe less of use. Finally finished up school so will have some money to play around with soon to fix this thing up... or start up my nuvo 10 🤔 All of that said, it’s amazing how water flow influences the health of the coral and tank in general. I recently got the Jebao SLW-10 pump, which is a Nero 5 clone. After one week my tank already looks healthier. Honestly I love it and would buy it again, it’s silent and has a very wide flow pattern. I think running this pump on random mode in my Nuvo 10 will be perfect. Moving soon so that will be interesting, but for now this tank is chugging along and I’m still enjoying it. 3 Quote Link to comment
banasophia
Looks so beautiful, I especially love your leather and your GSP on the back wall 😍 1 1 Quote Link to comment
debbeach13
Every thing look nice. Good luck with the move. I hope it isn't too stressful. I bet that new pump will be a good upgrade. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ckane2
Really loving the SLW-10 pump so far. It’s super quiet and moving water nicely in my tank. Sadly I removed the GSP from my back wall, but it was starting to get onto my main rock and bother other corals so it was time to go. So I have this Nuvo 10 hanging around and I’m wondering, if I took the main rock that’s pictured here and moved it into a brand new set up, would it cause a mini cycle and possibly be a pain? Or would the mature rock have enough bacteria to stop a cycle from occurring? It’s either that or start completely fresh with my nuvo 10.. any advice would help. I really like the main rock though it has digi, monti cap, zoa’s, shrooms, and even some Hollywood stunner growing on it, could grow in really nicely in a new set up under some AI primes 🧐 2 Quote Link to comment
growsomething
That rock would look excellent framed in a nuvo 10. It's a very nice piece, and would look even nicer alone, filling a tank. If it's like getting live rock, you might get a mini-cycle, but it would be very minimal with some sand and water transfered as well. Over in 5 days with a few water changes. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Ckane2
I have officially shut down the 5 gallon after over 2.5 years But I’m excited to see what I can do with this Nuvo 10. I decided to use ABS plastic to make a black, bare bottom tank and I love the way it turned out. I also used most of my old rock work. I think I’m getting rid of the GSP and going to try and fill the tank with zoas... we’ll see how it turns out. The third picture is the side view of the tank from my couch which I love. I’m going to be upgrading to the AI prime as soon as I can. Right now I have the custom caddy with filter floss and ceramic rings taken from my old tank. Any advice on my layout or on the wavemaker placement? 3 Quote Link to comment
Ckane2
Also I just made this switch yesterday hence why my leather and other corals are still angry looking. Lots of sliming throughout the process Quote Link to comment
