I know a few reef tank-specific ones have been out recently as well. Any particular reasons you went this route? Also, since these are just "glass pieces" technically, would you be comfortable using it submerged under surface? Just curious. your recent color/white balance also looked very nice; is that just the Pixel auto-WB or do you run it through some other app? I've used LightRoom free version for iOS, and was pretty impressed with its autoWB. I wouldn't mind trying these glass pieces if it helps for better quick pics in the future. Quote Link to comment

I'd seen that it got a lot of good reviews and wanted a more general purpose lens for the phone. I tried dipping it underwater and the rim around the lens (to shade the lens from overhead lights) holds an air bubble in which messes things up. Might have to look at getting a flat filter for the end to prevent the top down distortion from the surface. As for editing, the Pixel 2 XL shoots in RAW so I use LightRoom and a preset I've made based on my typical lighting. 3 Quote Link to comment

Griever
Acclimation box did the trick, Kole Tang and the new Spotbreast are getting along great. What a pretty fish! 1 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Beautiful Spotbreast Angelfish @Griever, glad it's getting along well. How old do they have to be before they start to develop their adult stripped markings? Quote Link to comment

This one should stay female and looking very similar to how it looks now (and staying on the smaller side). Quote Link to comment

Griever
May FTS shots! Alk temporary got too low and I've got a few bleached tips, so I had to increase my dosing. Guess coral growth caught up! Overall really happy with how things are filling in. Will be able to make some small frags of my bigger colonies soon for trades. 🙂 I've also been super happy with my Spotbreast Angelfish. Model take citizen, eating like a pig, and super active. No idea why they're not more popular in reef tanks. 2 Quote Link to comment
pricewayne
Wow, this is such a great tank. I love the desk//stand combo so so much — did you build yourself or have it made for the tank? I am seriously struggling with stand options for a larger setup in the future. That August to February acro growth is awesome!! Quote Link to comment

Nah, it's got plenty of compression strength since I planned for the cabinet width to be exactly the same as the tank width, so each side of the tank has support directly under it, and since it's a built-in counter (all attached to a metal bar into the studs) there's no possible way for it to rack back and forth. If it was a stand-alone cabinet/stand I would have definitely reinforced it with some cross braces to prevent racking. Quote Link to comment

Griever
Order from Battle Corals has arrived! As always Adam delivers. Names from left to right; BC Blood Bank, BC Thelman's Rainbow, BC Banana Boy Blue Too, AQSD Green Peach Mille (in the back, not from this order), BC Ultimate Sol (had to superglue over some STN, hoping it recovers!), BC Battlestag (back row), BC Bohemia (never seen this one before and it's not on his site), BC Reverse Sky Parade. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Griever
End of June FTS updates! I've been having some small Alk swings as I get my dosing dialed back in. Since I've set it up my dosing has increased close to 50% just to keep up with the increased growth! I'm also in love with this Beach Bum Monti frag I traded for at a local community frag swap. 2 Quote Link to comment
Griever
Alk/Cal usage continues to climb, which I'm taking as a good sign. I'm now at 2x the starting dose. Doing about 40ml a day total now just to keep up! 5 Quote Link to comment
