Beer
Curious if anyone is using Coralife Tri-lamps over their tanks and what they think about them. Thinking of using some to supplement dark corners of the display and possibly to increase intensity in specific spots without overpowering the lower light corals. Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
They appear to be mr16 bulbs very similar to what I used in my DIY's....which were patterned loosely after @TinyGiant's build from long ago. If so, they're fine! :-) Do you know what lenses they have though? Without the ultra-strong 30deg lenses that mine have (their default) they will not penetrate to significant depth. (Fine for nanos.) With lenses, they'll light down to 20+" when setup in a strip across the tank. Quote Link to comment
Beer
This was last March. I was at a fresh water fish auction and they had a pile of these. I was thinking of picking them up if they went for short money. They ended up going for more than I was willing to pay to experiment with them. Quote Link to comment
bizzarro
I was thinking of buying some here for $5 but too bad it's not GU10... https://www.marineandreef.com/Coralife_Tri_Chromatic_LED_Tri_Lamp_p/res08631.htm Quote Link to comment
mcarroll
MR16- or MR11-style pins...you can get plain sockets for those too. Quote Link to comment
